It's a known issue with the previous bios's. My oc is stable. Many hours of prime95 and core temps at load at around 73C. 40C at idle. Seems to be some issue with blk over 180 and general quirkiness with s3 in general for most x58 boards. From what I have gathered, the F9 bios's are supposed to fix it once and for all. I guess I'll find out...

It worked fine for me in the F8 Beta's on UD5, so it should for you if you was stable.

Either way, good luck with the update to F8 final

Thank you for the confirmation. So I will flash my motherboard tonight, I hope there is no regression on the boot on USB issue ... I will confirm that later.

I have ud4p, i don't know anything about ud5. All I read was that over 180blk the ud4p has issues with s3 when using bios previous to F9. I guess I'll find out. More of a nuisance than anything because I much prefer to sleep than shutdown due to the boot times.

Ok jOnx, I also have the ud4P and I can resume with all F8 and F9 BIOS's, beta or final at 220+ Blck. Actually from F7d onwards S3 is not an issue at all for the UD4P

I still notice an issue with S3 (STR) on my UD5. Everything stock, on Seven 64 RC, I choose to suspend my computer. It goes on STR, i.e. power led blinking, no more activity (fan stopped, hdd stopped, etc ...). After a few seconds, about 15 seconds, without having moved the mouse, pressed a key, computer wakes up and instantly displays desktop. If I try to use S3 again, it just freezes while suspending.

So it means that S3 is almost working, but something make the computer goes out suspend mode ... and why is it freezing then, it must be linked. Any idea ?
