Yes guys, the BIOS updates were pulled due to the USB Keyboard and Mice Bugs, this affects several brands not just the G15.

Please use the current Beta's posted on page one of this thread, or use a USB to PS/2 Adapter and you will have no issues.

Page one for those who are unsure
Gigabyte's Latest BIOS - Page One

No need for bashing Gigabyte or the BIOS Engineers. This thread, and others at other forums, is intended for the sole purpose of allowing the general masses to test beta BIOS's and report about any issues found. This way Gigabyte can look into the issues, try to come to a resolution, and to provide an updated beta or final BIOS to resolve the issues. If you cannot handle testing a beta because bugs or issues bother you terribly or interfere with the use of your computer then please do wait for someone to let you know if said bug/bugs has been corrected in the BIOS you are looking to test/use.

We appreciate your professionalism on the subject and expect civil replies and feedback to be given. Your help in testing and reporting issues helps us all in the long run, so please keep it civil and thank you for your time in testing and patience in waiting for issues to be resolved.

Hey guys I saw the answer to this somewhere in this 173 page thread but can't find it now. I am going to try F9C tonight and need to know the process to roll back to F8 if F9C doesn't work for me. I take it that the onboard bios flash utility won't allow a downgrade and that some other utility is required to reflash back to F8? Thanks in advance.

At the moment, F9a for EX58-UD5 seems to have solved most of the problems that F8 had caused. I still havent tried rebooting though and F8 couldn't find my HDs at boot time. Luckily for me, the cd-rom still worked, so, having to boot only Linux, I could boot a live cd and kexec into my HD from it. I don't know if F9a has solved this issue, but I'll see that the next time I reboot(because even this last boot after reflashing the BIOS I kexeced, just to be on the safe side).

Sometimes you must either use Dos based flash (Suggested) such as FlashSPI or use @BIOS (NOT Suggested).

But go ahead and try Qflash as it may be fine. The issue is not with flashing backwards, but with different Qflash versions in various BIOS's. You can normally flash backwards with Qflash without issue, but sometimes due to version differences you must use one of the abvoe mentioned methods.

Did anyone test the new BIOS F8a for the X58-UD3R? I'd like to know if it did fix the usb keyboard during DOS mode and everything else stayed the same (just like the F7).

F9a tested for the Extreme, has made corsair memory more stable, G15 works at DOS again. seems 100% faster getting into vista than, F8 only bug I found was that the an incorrect CPU speed is reported to vista verified by CPUz.

Also F8 and F9a after BIOS is flashed for some stupid reason SLi gets dissabled in NVidia control panel and you need to activate SLi again, this tends to make most people think that games have lost a hole heap of Frames Per Second, this I have never seen before. Gigabyte responded to me that F8 was removed for, nothing to do with G15 keybord issues but an application package error.
