Thread: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS

I would give my left testicle to have a gigabyte board that could s3 sleep while being overclocked. I really don't know why they haven't addressed what clearly is a problem :(

Im using the UD3R and have not had a problem since F6 with S3 sleep overclocked. I sleep a 3 sec and wake in 3 roughly. What board u on?

Got impatient trying to get EX58 UD5 to sleep!
Got an i5 & GA P55m to try now.
It is the ****s for sure when your system is in another room!!

Think this may be a closed Forum though.

    An ep45-dq6

Its a great board giving me something like a 1.2ghz overclock. Only thing is s3 sleep goes away after only a 400mhz overclock or so.

    Same happened with my ep45-ds3.

Honestly my next board will be an MSI for sure because of this.

All boards have issues with sleep and high overclocks, X58 boards most all are corrected now with above 200 Bclk using S3 and I do believe all the P45's have now been fixed as well for above 400-450 FSB and S3

Sounds like you guys are just not using correct settings yet.

While I have not used P45 for a while, I can for sure say UD5 and UD4P have no issues when resuming from S3 at or above 200 Bclk once you have the proper BIOS settings and of course are using the latest BIOS

I'm using the lastest bios for my board and its 24 hr prime blend stable at 4ghz. S3 sleep just plain doesn't work at least with the p45s! I'm willing to give it another go at trying to figure it out, but honestly I doubt there's anything you could suggest that I haven't already tried and tested.

Works fine for me on P45-DS4

I know, we have discussed this before and I thought you got it long ago? Guess I was wrong? I do know the UDx models have had more issues than the normal P45's and I have not used a UD model, only the DS4 and it resumes just fine at 450 FSB.

Using a EX58 UD5 for a long time now. Installed most all Bios posted here as they came out.

    Had two issues with them:
Fully populated memory slots would not allow a 1600 setting.
Sleep mode would only work on 1 or 2 of the Bios we installed.
That was back around Bios 6

Never did get 1600 to work.
S3 sleep does not work with the latest Bios.

    Now the great news.
This new i5 & P55M Cheapo setup using the P4G Bios is
now running at 4GB with no special Voltage settings, fully populated 8GB memory!

It S3 Sleeps just fine so far!!
    Go figure.

Most of us running the P45 UD3x series are at 500 FSB. Not sure if S3 will ever be cured for that.

i haven't had any showstopping problems with S3 sleep on my EX58-UD5 for months now and have my 1600 mem running at 1800 (latest bios is gr8)

only problem with S3 that i have on my UD5 at the moment, is the HAL errors that occur in event viewer as the system sleeps.
not a huge problem i know, but it just bugs me when i know the bios engineers can fix it
