The ati 5000 series is buggy right now, nothing to do with motherboard bios. The reason it freezes occurs mostly during powerplay. It lowers the clocks to much causes instability and freezes. I manually set my power play to same as video playback of 400 gpu 900 memory then its stable no freezes or crashes.

You can adjust that in users appdata "create profile" edit the 157/300 to 400/900 in profile.

I'd really love to see the Cpu Refference 2 setting in the next P45 UD3 bioses, as it will bring some stabilisation at higher speeds (esp. 4+ghz).

That's not going to happen because the hardware simply isn't capable of it. Voltage regulation of CPU Ref 2 is hard locked. Only Boards with that voltage accessabe by the BIOS (mainly X48 boards) offer this ref voltage.

I doubt it would add any more stability anyway. The board is more than capable of getting CPU's above 4GHz with total stability. If unstable at 4GHz + more likely the CPU is at its limits. Also 99% of the C2D/C2Q I have OC'd need MCH refs changing, not CPU Ref.

Thanks for the suggestion but its not power-play. I think it was a bug in MSI-Afterburner that happened to mess around after i flashed the bios.

Here is what i noticed after i was having all the crashes.

This happened intermittently and this was just ideling on the desktop. This was with No Overclocking at all and idleing on desktop.
I restarted the machine when the card got to 85 degrees. These temps are really high considering i normally run the card @ 930 core with 1.18V and under full load it gets to 71

Anyway i have fixed it (I hope) so there is nothing wrong with the bios and my OC seems stable again.

I upgraded to X58-UD3R 1.6 Bios Ff2, working fine but I noticed "Floppy 3 Mode Support" in Standard CMOS has been removed.

    Did you use Qflash?
