Possibly, but I doubt it really.

No? Why do you say that? X58A-UD7 is listed at the top of page one, and previous older BIOS for it is here (Also linked right at the top as well)

    When I download the official F6 bios or F6a I get these files, X58AUD7.F6 and X58AUD7.F6a. When I download "GA-X58A-UD7 - F6test1" I get a TEST1.BIN file. I've never used a BIN file, is this ok?

    Official F6 should be F6

    And F6a should be F6a

    Test1.bin is F6 Test 1

You can use .bin files, that's what the .Fxx really ar anyway. You can name them anything you want and Qflash will still know what it is

Thumbs down SMART Not Reporting Correctly For HDs Connected to JMicron (White SATA Ports)

I have a gigabyte ex58-ud5, and I have been using the F12 BIOS and recently added a few hard drives. In order to accommodate all of them, some of them were hooked to the JMicron (White SATA Ports). They all formatted fine and work like they should, but Everest shows no SMART info on them. The screen where the info should be is grey, while all HDs hooked to the blue ports report like always. There is nothing wrong with the new drives, and I also hooked up a drive from the blue port to the white one, and it stopped reporting SMART data.

I had to go as far back as the F8H BIOS, to get SMART data to report anything, and even then it was only the temp. I am now on F7, and I still only see temp.

It would be really nice to have a new BIOS like F12 that had working SMART for all SATA ports.

I am open to suggestions or help. Thanks in advance.

I just purchased an X58A-UD5 + i7 930 (not officially supported til F4 bios).. had some cold boot memory issues, brought the ram and the board back and got a replacement ud5 and some diff memory and everything works great now.

That old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it".. well I have a problem doing just that.

So the "new" board has F1 bios installed on it.

Is there any reason why I should upgrade to F5 since everything works? I don't want to chance that it was my original problem.

If I flashed to F5 can I flash backwards if F5 doesn't work?

Please send in an issue report if you have not already, and let us know what they tell you. It will take them a few days to get back to you, so please be patient.

Yes, please upgrade your BIOS! MANY fixes and enhancements/improvements have been made in the BIOSes since the boards came out.

F5 will work fine, but yes you can flash backwards anytime you want.
