You can still QFlash from inside the BIOS.

Tried re-flashing, but same behavior. Rolled back to F6.
I tried F7x, and noticed that I could generally get into the F12 menu if I left the Fullscreen BIOS option enabled. If disable this option (so I can see POST messages) I get the blank screen, blinking cursor.

With the full-screen BIOS enabled I did encounter the blank screen-on-F12 once, but that appeared to be an anomaly and wasn't repeatable.

    GA-EX58-UD5 - F13j
    -Improved audio efficiency

It has problems with optical output.
My PC sound goes from S/PDIF to reciever and when i installed bios F13j with improved audio efficiency my output started to stop allthe time for just a second. That means like the sound is hacking, but when i installed F12 bios, everything is allright.

Nice to hear they finally fixed it for you!

I sent in a report again not long ago so maybe that helped.

Both of you guys please send in a report, with your specs and BIOS version, and explain how to replicate the issue as you have here.

Also keep in mind they will be translating, so keep it simple.

At the beginning ask them to please forward to the BIOS engineer team for testing

can someone explain the 'numbering system' for the BIOS versions....I see now for my board there is a v.2 [I assume, but don't know, that it is perhaps for a new v.2 board of X58A-UD7] - and how does one distinguish a beta version from a more standard update? What is the latest BIOS for my board [v.1] without any known large problems? Thanks.

It's fairly straightforward. The higher the BIOS number, the newer it is. The same goes alphabetically. If you substitute a for '1' and b for '2' and so on, then z would be the latest of the series.

The second revisions have FB- as their part name to help distinguish the differences.

Hi, are there BIOSes for other boards online too? I have a GA-EX38-DS5 and all Gigabyte Germany offers me is F5B, a beta from April 2009. TIA ...now if I only could figure out what's different with formatting here from XS, OC, JG and others.

Solidbladez is right, and yes there is a rev. 2.0 of X58A-UD7 now so that is why you see the rev. 2 FB BIOSes for that model

Yes, did you see at the bottom of the list where is says "Continued on page 2"?

Here is the X38 boards, yours is there but it's the same F5b BIOS
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...st-bios-2.html

So that means no changes have been needed as of yet for that model
