I updated to this bios to solve SMART detection issues with sandforce SSDs (Gskill phoenix pro in my case), which solved the problem.

However, now I am having USB keyboard issues, when AHCI is enabled.

I enabled USB keyboard and legacy support, but as soon as I turn on AHCI and native sata mode, I cannot get into bios anymore. even spamming DEL during the AHCI detection. I assume this is a problem with the USB keyboard support.

On CMOS battery clear I can get back into bios straight away.

Any one else having that problem?

But still don't understand what Extreme Clock and Extreme Temp do.
These settings all probably are not/would not be of any help or use to normal overclocking as they are meant for use under Ln2 temps. So they could probably even damage somethings.

actually I did some more testing and this option GOOC EXTREME CLOCK enabled gives me 10,000 more points in Vantage (cpu score), it also gives me 5+FPS in Warhead bench, and about 5+FPS in Mafia 2 benchmark consistently

"GOOC EXTREME CLOCK: This option removes OCP when enabled" seems to really unlock some CPU power for me

not sure why disabling OverCurrentProtection helps me that much, I am thinking with my 5970+5870 and 980x both overclocked heavily I am hitting the limit of what current my UD9 thinks is safe?

The BIOS for the GA-P55A-UD7 has gone from F8a to VCO. Is there some meaning to the change in numbering format?

I recently moved to F8a and it seemed to fix a problem with my ATI graphics card failing to return from sleep. However now (or maybe still) I get strange behavior with my hard disk assignment. If I sleep with USB drives active, my highest two hard disks disappear when I resume from sleep with the same USB drives powered up. Didn't used to do this.

Reboot clears it up; but that rather defeats the point of sleep. Which I consider essential.

I found where it is posted in an earlier thread. I did not look far enough back. It would appear it is an overclocking modded BIOS. Hence, I will stay with 8fa.

Still have the problem of course.

I looked at F8i and looks like they have updated the Intel ROM to 8.9.1.1002. Anything else they might have done is not obvious. Going to give this a try tonight

We do not have this information since the model is so old

No change log, but yes I can confirm for you that F8i has the Sandfore SMART error fix.
