Sorry to disagree, but gigabyte's qvl is a joke. If you dig the threads it happens even with some memory in their qvl.

Not to mention that the tested ram i was referring to, it's mem tested by users that solved their problem switching ram and most of them are not on gigabyte's qvl.

yea the qvl is only ram tested on the boards there are a lot of ram that does work with the board just fine not on it. In the guys case its not on the QVL so he can't just expect it to work. I have had those problems before, and i will tell you none were due to the board. but i have a UD5, the first time it was CPU pressure difference(which is usually the problem, yet people have no idea how to fix it, or think because they read a manual they are pros.), second time i accidentally killed a stick of ram by un-plugging a fan from the cpu fan port and accidentally hit the ram slot dislodging the ram, yea one stick was dead and i was swapping around 4 sticks of ram trying to find which one was dead, i thought it was pressure but then i remembered the system froze, i searched Google for hours, and most threads i saw about it were on EVGA forums about a "cold boot" issue with ram which is "due to capacitor warm up time, which is a joke, more like the board is auto compensating and boost qpi voltage. Either way if it only happens to select people, then its most likely user error, cpu defect, ram problem most of the time, or in the end motherboard. Since it doesn't happen to most UD3Rs you would think it would specific with certain ram. You also do know it takes about 6+ hours to test a ram stick with memtest? Even still it wont tell you if you have enough qpi/vtt voltage. You can't just run 1600mhz ram at stock.

I don't think you read that thread, we are talking of a lot of people with the same problem that did a lot of testing, it's not just that guy, i personally have my mem and cpu working at stock speeds and i experience the same problem described in that thread. If you take the time to read that 19 pages thread you will see how all points to a bios issue: the same system behaves differently with different bios revisions, also the systems have problems only on cold boot, they can run memtest, occt and any other stressful app for more than 24h (as i tested) after they boot up correctly.
Sometimes your points can be right, but in this case it's really a problem with the bios, in 21+ years of IT and PC assembly i saw my share of issues and i can't imagine why this is not being looked into.

    Default Ga-ex58-ud3r (1.6) - fj13

    Hey, new member, first post.

I saw my motherboard on the new bios list at first post in this thread and it seems to be a lot newer than what gigabyte have on their site. However, are there anywhere to read a version log of changes?

My motherboard GA-EX58-UD3R (1.6) and I have Fj7 now and have 3x2 GB of CM3X2G1333C9 memory that I have problems getting stable and have to run them at 1066 mhz now. But I guess that is a problem for another thread..

I have ask the same thing , and probably many others before me , and we got nothing in reply ...

AND so the conclusion are that some one likes to remain blind and deaf ... for more than three yeas or so .

They do that on purpose , so to avoid of called responsible for the Beta Bios ... And so the only logical act will be, to not use those Bios at all ...
