    Sum it up man, was this meaning the double/triple false start?
    ah u know I was looking around for people having the same problem as me, with my Gigabyte X58 i7, of not booting when cold, taking about 3 tries, and then work fine once warm. This sounds like the same deal; whenever I am running a Bclk of 160 or 200 (my 2 favorite overclocks) pc doesn't boot cold (works fine when stock settings). Well and yes I am running a QPI voltage of at least 1.34v.

    Anyway u know what I found on some other forum, that seems to help?
    (hard to believe I know)
    Turn OFF my LCD monitor power before I go to bed, then boot up PC, and do not turn on LCD until I hear fans kick down, and for 1 week I could not cold boot (when overclocked), then for the last 2 mornings cold booted fine, at my 2 different OC's (at 1.34-1.40v QPI and 160 and then 200 Bclk's)
    I dunno, still find it hard to believe it worked (still thinkin maybe flukes? as it's same bios and settings)

    but if they were flukes it seems this mew Bios ain't gonna help ur saying?

    I did not ask here just because normally users only come here to get help with problems and don't stick around long. So I asked there so I could get some regular users info there quickly.

    But I do need any and all info you can provide. So go ahead and ask around as well if you know anyone else. UD5 and Extreme

    No problem LSD, Thank you!

    For your info, I just tried the latest official F5 Bios and I cannot resume from S3.

    This was at settings in sig (195x20/21), except for higher vcore since I imagine F5 has no TDP limit. I have to do the same thing when I switch from my 24/7 settings on F3 (with TDP lim), to my Bench settings on F4j/m (No TDP lim).

    Only other thing I might be doing differently is Sata Mode. I'm using AHCI...

    Also, I noticed most newer BIOS's do not automatically set proper uncore ratio of 2x ram multi...
    F3---> Ram 2:8, uncore on auto =x16 (3120)
    F5---> Ram 2:8, uncore on auto =x19 or x20 (3705-3900) (don't remember exactly)
    With an 940 or 965 it might be ok, but with the necessary high bclk to OC the 920, those ratios push the uncore too far when left on auto...

    I'm thinking maybe something else that we cannot see/set is being pushed too much with the newer BIOS's?

    Great forums here! This is my first post, and just a quick question...

    GA-EP45-UD3LR - F5 ??? BIOS F5 ???

    The Gigabyte website(s) latest available BIOS for this board is F5a beta, which I tried and then reverted back to F4. I'd lost some OC stability. F4 works fine for me, but I always do like to try the latest available.

    You don't list your F5 as the "a", or a beta, so, I'm just curious... Is it the F5a beta or not? If not, where's it from because it's certainly not on any of the Gigabyte official sites.

    Thanks,
    Rob

    The thread is "Latest BIOS",so mostly of them are not posted on the Gigabyte official sites.
    For GA-EP45-UD3LR:
    BIOS F5a-released 19.Feb 2009
    BIOS F5-released 24.Feb 2009
    Also in Previous BetaBIOS is posted BIOS F5b.

    Thanks stasio, I have posted a couple of times about my UD5 double cold boot, and that setting the qpi below 1.3 which the first setting on my board is 1.28 fixes the double boot, even contacting Gigabyte and explaining this and they claimed the double boot was normal. I notice in your post you have a F6b bios for the UD5, does this fix the qpi problem, and if so where can I download it from.

    F5 final only fixes cold start but not S3 issue on UD5.

    Yeah.. I have the same problem after flashing to F5 on my EX58-DS4. Occasionally I can cold boot with 160BCLK and 12GB RAM, most of the time I can't. ( warm boot works fine). It definately is an improvement from F4 where I can't even cold boot ( not at all) with BCLK >150, but I do hope this issue gets fixed soon...
