I've never looked, do you have an updated file you wanted to use? What tools are you looking with?

Also another question... is there a way to power down the PC (through bios) when CPU temp exceeds a threshold or CPU fan speed is zero? I know about the warning sound, but would prefer an auto powerdown function... I am about to install a watercooling loop, so these autopowerdown features would be very helpful to me...

    Thank you!
Any of the F8 BIOSes work great, and I've not heard anything bad about the latest F9a either, so you'll be fine with any of those for sure.

As for the power down, no there is not any options for that in the BIOS. It would be great to have though, maybe they will add sometime in the future.

The latest version of the firmware seems to be something only OEM's can get and release.

I scoured the web for some time this weekend but to no avail.

Your Latest bios is GA-EX58-Extreme - F13s. It does not look like gigabyte added hybird efi. This only adds the support for 3+ TB drives.

If you need 3+ TB support you may want to contact gigabyte directly and ask if this can be done. They might say no as this board do old.

No Gigabyte board at this time has a graphical bios. They offer touch bios which is a windows utility. This is only supported on z68 and P67 boards.

Just like updating the bios. Newer roms add support to newer hardware fix bugs from older roms. And also possible speed increase depending on the rom you are referring too :)

Thanks a lot for your reply... very helpful (as always) :)

Regarding the auto-powerdown feature, i thought it was available in the bios and that it was me not being able to find it... I got surprised by your answer on that... Any idea how can we persuade gigabyte to add this very useful feature?...

    Thanks !
