Dumb question here. How do you update ROMS?

Google is your best friend. You use a program called cbrom to moddify the bios. Depending on the bios you will need different versions of cbrom.

There is a risk you run if you mod a bios. 1. it could just fail trying to create the bios. 2. You could create it but it could fail while flashing. 3. could end up with a brick motherboard and have to send in to RMA.

I am still new at this, this is why I only do the P45-ud3p rev 1.1 and the X58A-ud5 rev2 as these are the 2 boards I have that I can try before release the modded bios.

I just tried out F6d with Intel XTU, and while it's able to change clocks, the Core Temp/Voltage is not reported properly:
    CPU Core Temp: 429496400 C
    Core Voltage: 0.0000V

I tried the F5C beta bios last night for the P67A-UD4-B3 mobo. Seemed okay til I realized that it wouldnt let me run my RAM at 1600mhz.

If i manually set it to 1600 or even used the XMP it would only run at 1333. And it was weird because the bios would show it running at 1600 but when I got into windows it showed 1333.

So I thought it was a bug or something but I fired up AIDA and the memory benchmarks were a good bit lower than what they were at 1600.

So I reverted back to F4 and the memory works as its supposed to again.

    Try this F5c.
    Did you try F5b?
    After flashing BIOS,clear CMOS.

F5b didn't have this problem for me, and I cleared CMOS after updating. Unplug psu, pop out battery, put jumper on pins, etc.

What is different about this F5c and the one on Gigabytes site?
