Hi, im wanting to know about GA-X58A-UD3R rev2 bios FH3, as it been tested by anyone on this forum? and what does it mean by please update the latest dolby home theatre driver, Theater PCEEv4 support (where do i get it from). Does anyone know of an english bios i can safely use with all the updated roms which as been completely tested and bug free which also has the new functions of FH3, i know it voids your warranty but if everythings upto date instaed of being 3 to 4 years old ie, ahci and sata, i dont care as long as its stable.

Bios's only come in 1 language. The web site that its hosted on may be in a different language.

As for the sound concern. They just mean make sure you install the latest sound drivers. I would suggest try installing them before updating the bios to avoid any problems. Drives can be found in the stickies here or go to gigabyte's support section for your board and get there drivers there. Another place is the manufactures website. As they would have the most updated driver.

No bios or option rom will be bug free and 100% stable. Even when a bios goes to "Finale" version its never gonna be 100% for every user. There is just too much different hardware that users can choose from to build a system.

the onlt thing i can find on the gigabyte web site concerning sound is the latest realtek azalia download but i cant find anything to do with dolby home theatre v4 or drivers for the new dolby, would you be able to give some info on what and where i should look for the dolby home theatre with PCEEv4 support, then i can update, then if needed update the bios aswell.Ive been getting on to gigabyte to release a bios with all updated roms but all i get is we are looking in to updating to the latest roms please keep checking, that was months and months ago lol.

    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0)

Im gonna say your latest sound card drivers will have the dolby home theater support. As the drivers were release at the same time as the bios. Google does not really show much help and wants to correct what you are searching for.

    EDIT--

Yes download the latest audio drivers from gigabytes website as they have the correct stuff for the new dolby. See here

I see a couple of users have had issues with the F9c bios on GA-EX58A-UD7 (rev. 1). I thought I would add my experience updating from F9a to F9c, both standard (not modded) bioses. I am NOT using RAID. I have one SSD boot drive and one HDD.

After loading F9c bios with Q-Flash (selecting clear DMI data), loading optimized defaults, then rebooting and adding back my normal overclock settings, I received POST error message re: failed to detect boot drive. This cleared after a few seconds and Windows loaded normally. Next boot paused to rebuild DMI data, then failed to find boot drive. A couple of additional reboots failed to detect boot drive and failed to load Windows. All subsequent restarts of the computer are normal - WIndows loads successfully each time.

Not sure what the problem with F9c is/was, but it now seems to be working fine.

I tried a lot of reboots and it would not recognize the drives in the raid array. It won't even give you the option to enter the RAID config, it just skips it as if it is not there.

Thankyou for your input, i have proceeded in updating my bios(GA-X58A-UD3R rev2 BIOS FH3) and love the new dolby theatrev4, cant wait for the final, i hope they update the roms ie, intel, sata, lan, but yeah, im lovin it, i have something new to play with lol,(pun not intended lol). The only problem i have which is happened since fg bios is that if i choose extreme memory which i will be doing soon, and then take it off extreme memory to update to a new bios it seems to corrupt itself and i end up with recovery flash of FB(original bios), its happened everytime ive had to change it, like when you load defaults or try and change it back to standard for updating bios, the pc just seems to hang when shuttingdown after pressing F10 to save, i have to hit the reset switch to get it to shut off.I dont mind as long as it recovers but how many times can you write a bios?

Exclamation Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS

Can anyone mod the GA-X58A-OC BIOS to properly work with the new 11.0.0.1124 option ROM while still being able to load the Marvell 9182 RAID BIOS normally? I do not understand why this board has the Marvell 9182 BIOS right after the Intel RAID OROM where as other boards have it in different locations. There is plenty of space in the BIOS left to support larger option ROMs but right now if you just straight mod newer option ROMs (the ones that are approx. 120K in size) into the BIOS the Marvell BIOS no longer loads.

Please note that this board uses the 9182 controller, not the older 9128.

I would really appreciate if this can be taken care of!

Guys, do not update ga-x58a-ud3r rev2 to bios FH3 because the new dolby doesnt work and its reverted my motherboard into a normal no dolby theatre motherboard, meaning that the bass sub woofer only works in the test like it did before i purchased this mobo, now no matter what i put sound through ie, wmp, youtube, videos there is no sub woofer and theres no way to get it working unless you revert back to previous bios, im gutted , the sound is crystal clear accept for no bass, what a wounder.
