Anyone have a tool to extract OROM from UEFI Bios (like x79 chipset), it's to extract RSTe 3 from it?

have to keep trying. With computer turned off hold down the alt key pres the power button on and when you hear the beep (if you have a system speaker connected) start pressing and keep pressing F12 key while still holding down the alt key. The other combo is ctr+F12. Which will copy the back up bios to the main bios. Both options will promt you before the action will take place. So if you cant get one to work try the other one. Then try the first one again.

Just make sure you only copy the main bios to the back up bios.

Thank you.... but after much frustration i called gigabyte tech support and told them it was not working and they told me no back up bios updaing supported on the z68 boards have to rma and they would do it for free. I am good with f1 as a back up. makes no sense to take that away and rep agreed with me.

anyway, anyone know which is the best Assassin 2 Bios to this point? And does anyone know what was fixed in the F5 releases?

HAHAHAHAHA......that's SUCH A BUNCH OF BULL. Of course it's not "Supported," because it's an undocumented feature. Just like the control + F1 combo in the BIOS to bring up two hidden options (this combo used to be displayed in the manual on older boards). That tech is just spewing crap....of course the control f12 and alt f12 combos work. It's just VERY VERY VERY hard to get the board to recognize it with a USB keyboard. On my last try, it took me no less than *TWENTY* reboots before it finally recognized it.

Many people have said it's MUCH easier getting it to work with a ps/2 keyboard, so that's definitely worth a try, if you have an old ps/2 keyboard sitting around. And it's nice to have one anyway, just in case you have problems with USB ports working in BIOS.....

I was able to flash my backup BIOS to F6 using ALT F12. It did take 3 tries of continuously repeating ALT F12 to get into it. Unfortunately it didn't fix my BIOS restart problem. Not sure what it could be. It wasn't restarting with BIOS F4. I don't think it is my Overclock but I suppose I could set it to a lower speed for a while to check. Thanks.

These Bios has not been test. No errors occurred while creating them. Bios files should work just fine. Before flashing Please make sure you no how to recover from a bad flash. Please use these at your own risk. This will could void your warranty if need to send the board in for RMA with these modded bios files installed.
