    Hi,

the BIOS with Intel RAID 10.0 works super. With this one ^ Intel and JMicron ROMs don't show up at boot => only IDE mode possible with both controllers (LAN Boot ROM is ok).
In an Intel forum i've read: "You need RST OROM 10.5 or later to support physical disks >= 2TB."
So... having a BIOS with RST > 10.5 would be great. Acebmxer, maybe you can also make a try?

    Hi Lee,
Sorry about the confusion. My original request had nothing to do with DVID...I only mentioned the DVID in addition, just above, because ever since GB came out with the multistep, DVID doesn't work anymore with it.

Gigabyte DISABLED the ability to use LLC with DVID when they came out with the multi step LLC. Actually, on the first few beta bioses (I believe, starting with F3 final), you could set DVID and a multi step LLC at the same time, but the board would fail to POST if you did this, and you would have to clear the cmos. People were complaining about this (since a lot of people loved old LLC1+DVID). A few beta bioses later, GB said DVID was incompatible with multi step LLC and disabled it if you enabled LLC. This was just a VERY Bad thing, since the old DVID and original two LLC's worked great together. So now if we use DVID, we get some pretty massive vdroop or have to set the +dvid mv very high to compensate. I haven't messed with the settings lately to see if they made any changes to that, though.

The bottom line is, not only did multistep introduce the wild voltage swings at higher voltages, but also prevented anyone from using dvid with it (which they blocked out). The old LLC's were fine. Maybe they could have just added something BETWEEN LLC1 and LLC2 (since LLC2 seemed to have a 'flat' vrise regardless of voltage set) and everything would have been just fine. Perhaps the board was originally hardware designed directly for two LLC levels,, and when they tried to compete with Asus and make multi step, they simply broke the board's design.
One additional LLC level (to try to have idle voltage and load voltage within 0.01v of each other at 1.45v target) would have been just great (if it had been possible). Everyone on XS agreed with me when I mentioned that....

    berno444,
Test this one with JUST the Intel OROM Updated to 10.5.0.1034 and Gigabyte SLIC 2.1 added.

If that works I can add the other OROMs one at a time to be tested and we can tell which OROM causes a problem.
Personally I believe that the Intel OROM version 10.1.0.1111 is the Newest that will work properly (due to newer versions being MUCH bigger in size) but hopefully I'm wrong.
The Newer 11.0.0.1339 worked in my Older MB so there is a chance a newer OROM will work in yours.

I am in NO way affiliated with Gigabyte.
If you use a BIOS I Modified, you do so at your own Risk and Assume Full Responsibilty !

    Hi guys,
I was going to ask if any of you could make a SLIC 2.1 bios mod for UD5 B3, but I guess I'll wait until (or IF) gigabyte releases a bios with fixed/better LLC without wild voltage swings. I"ll wait around and see what happens...

Requests like that are best done via PM, since there is only one reason to ask for such a thing. I'm serious, and joking at the same time though too!

I have to be serious because it's against our forum rules - (But google my screen name and you'll see why I'm also joking and mentioning via PM)

Thanks for the info above! I never use DVID, and always suggest users use normal voltage input, so I'm not even really familiar with how it fully works. I get the just of it though, just doesn't seem like an ideal choice for overclockers so that' why I feel like I do.

I tried VERY hard for you last night editing a BIOS myself for old LLC 1/2. I hex edited _EN_Code.bin many ways (All failed - garbled BIOS entries after flashing, inability to enter BIOS, ect), even tried inserting _EN_Code from an old BIOS with LLC 1/2 into a new BIOS with multi (Disabled and enabled), and had NO LUCK!! I'm no pro at Hex editing though, so it wasn't a big surprise to me. The main thing that got me going on it was awdbedit couldn't save enabling that setting again, so I tried looking for the disabled flag (01h) in EN_Code and it wasn't there (All are enabled {00h} in EN_Code, and there is 2-3 entries for old LLC too). So then I tried various copying of sections, disabling multi step, removing bits, ect but all was to no avail sadly

So, sorry I tried my best to do this myself for you so you could at least test with newer BIOSes using old LLC, but you'll have to wait and hope they will do one for you. Hopefully I'll hear back from them this week on this, and hopefully with some good news for you!

This BIOS works perfect (haven't tested the one with Intel RAID ROM 10.5). Thank you guys for the excellent job.

Glad to hear this worked for you. So you had no issues with raid roms displaying at boot?

For the Z68XP-UD4 B3 (rev1.3) is F6h using the latest iRST, Realtek Rom and Marvel Roms?

    Thanks,
