I am about to give up on this UD4P. I cannot get it to run my OCZ 1600 at anything but 1066 and stock voltage. If I make a single adjustment to the MIT page, I get an OC failure message preceded by nearly 15 false starts. This is stupid.

Can you run it between 1066 and 1500MHz? I can't run my OCZ Gold 1600 (PC3-12800, 8-8-8-24 timings) at 1600MHz anymore. As a compromise I increased my BCLK from 160 to 175, and I decreased my memory multiplier from 10 to 8. This gives me 1400MHz DDR3 and very nearly the same performance RAM, but increases my CPU speed another 1/3 GHz. My i7 920 now tops out at 3.675GHz.

Edit: My system is NOT stable at 175 BCLK, or even 160, or even 133, etc. It's rare but my system can still experience a reboot, so I'm pursuing an RMA with Gigabyte, most likely.

I had the same problem on my UD5@F6e, but solve of this problem was in the connection with my OCZ memory and the motherboard. Try to reconnect the memory on the motherboard.

Thanks, I already re seated the ram once

Again, it works fine and I see all 6GB, as long as I don't try and overclock them (or tighten the timings)

is that what u also had? (stock speed see all 6GB, then OC and only see 4GB?)

if so maybe I will try and reseat again (sure seemed like they "clicked" in good though)...allthough re-seating my ram is a real challenge now that I put my V10 cooler on

If Your BIOS see all 6GB, that the problem must be in OC, try to use some tests in EVEREST, or Sandra, - what will they say about U memory!? Try to update the performence index in vista.

yes the funny thing is EVEREST and CPUZ all show 6GB (even when overclocking ram)
but Windows TASK MANAGER says only 4GB TOTAL as soon as I overclock only a little bit (like 20Mhz to 100Mhz)
then I back off on my ram overclock and put back to stock 1600Mhz and stock timings, and boom Windows TASK MANAGER says 6GB in total

so Vista loses 2GB of ram as soon as I run ram at a faster speed (or tighter timings).

Just wanted to add, my 24/7 overclock is 200Bclk @ 4.2Ghz and ram at exactly 1600Mhz, and with those settings I have ran P95 all night as well as MemTest all night no errors, so I would think Ram is ok (at least at 1600Mhz). And then I have even ram Memtest with Ram at 1700 Mhz all night, even though Vista only shows 4GB and that also ran without errors. So I cannot figure out why I lose 2GB in Windows as soon as I overclock Ram a bit. I tried 202 Bclk last night, which put my ram at 1616Mhz, and same thing, Vista only sees 4GB of ram Total!
    isn't that wierd?
    any ideas?
    anyone?

a quick google shows me this is a very common problem with X58's (not just Gigabyte):
    http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...G=Search&meta=

a little more searching can find many more examples of people having the same issue as me, some overclocking, others lose 2GB at stock settings.

I guess thats what I get for buying the latest hardware right away, before all the bugs are worked out...lol

I have an EX58 DS4 [rev 1.0]. My current BIOS is an Award and current version F5 and my Q-Flash Utility is 2.09.

I would like to update to F6C. But before I do, some questions.

Is there a newer version of the Q-Flash Utilty, can this be updated?
I have no option in my BIOS or Q-Flash to see my 'Dual Bios' although this board DOES have dual bios.

How do I configure Dual BIOS? NO OPTION IN QFLASH OR BIOS MENU By that I mean how do I update different bios versions to either Primary or Backup bios? I would like to update the backup to at least F4. Is there a way of seeing the backup bios current version?

If its done via some invisible command, what are they, can you give a list?

    Thanks.

As has been noted earlier few pages,Q-Flash utility are part of BIOS and separate update is not available.
On the page 48 and Gigabyte FAQ stated that:
"After Main BIOS update successfully, system will reboot and during POST, please press Alt + F12 key to update Backup BIOS".
Also as stated on first page, before flashing BIOS,please read BIOS Flashing - A "How To ~ Qflash Guide"
    NOTE:
Other then BIOS issue, for hardware and your setting issue, please open new thread.
