I have the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH and have seen many of these same problems. On F11 I regularly have problems with it locking up at the BIOS logo if I have my Seagate 3TB (externally powered) USB 3 hard drive attached to the rear USB 3 ports. With F12(a,e) I get the issue where I can't use the keyboard to get into the BIOS, even if plugged directly into the rear USB2 ports (and I tried all the other ports as well). Also I can't seem to enable SSD caching for my Intel arrays, maybe because the RST BIOS is still an older version? I tried the modified BIOS but it is a modified version of F12A so while it might work with my SSD caching, I wouldn't know as I couldn't get into the BIOS to turn RAID back on after flashing it.

It seems crazy to me a vendor could release a BIOS that doesn't work with keyboards. I tried many different keyboards on a variety of ports with both F12A (modified) and F12E (stock) with no luck.

(Edit) Also forgot to mention, I too have see the power down issue as this box was a Hackintosh until I turned it back into a gaming rig and bought a Mac Mini to keep things separate. It would power down, then power right back up.

Did you try changing the USB POST settings in the BIOS? It seems there is a new option that allows you to set this in the F12f (well, I hadn't noticed it before upgrading) and it could be the cause of the problem.
