    The F7 bios for the GA-EX58-UD4P "closed" the bios hole I had (168~185). Am running stable at 170 right now until my better cooler shows up...will see where the new stable marks are...

    F7a is best bios I have tried for the X58 Extreme.
    S3 works properly with overclock... 4.2ghz i7.
    Overclocks well without bclk issues.
    Qflash issue is fixed, I reflashed F7a couple times with Qflash.
    And bios design is best...especially quick memory timings sets all 3 channels with one entry.

    What is S3 exactly? im using the FG5 for my UD5, should i go for the F7A?

    S3 is "sleep mode" or "standby" in power options. It is a very low power draw state (power/cost savings), computer seems like it is turned completely off, but when you hit power button takes just several seconds to pop back on. S3 all but RAM is turned off, context is saved to RAM. S4 is suspend to disk.
