Not sure if that has change with z87 or not but still not something I not recommend.

P.S. On a personal note ...I will not use it at all since it takes about 5 min. to reconfigure BIOS after loading Optimize settings.
It may be useful I guess ...somehow...because otherwise it will not be there

Its good that Z87 comes with Dual bios disable switch which Z77 don't
I see. I asked because after watching sin's youtube video on the new BIOS, I saw there are so many options. I had the same thing in mind as @irfs, and probably just take photos of changed items. Though I guess I'd get used to them after some use. Thanks again.

Hey Stasio - thank you for the time and effort you put into this thread. I know we're talking about ancient history in terms of motherboards here, but is there any hope of the Z68 series BIOS leaving beta in the forseeable future? The most current beta for my board (GA-Z68-UD3H-B3) is working well, but still has a few glitches with shutdown/reboot loops using certain PCI cards and overclocking issues. Our most recent update was several months ago, and we've been in beta for UEFI for about a year at this point.

Thanks and I appreciate any information you can provide.

    J.

I gave F5 another try and set the PCI-E to Gen2, so far i havn't had a Black Screen issue anymore.

So whatever changed between F4 and F5 it doesn't allow me to run Gen3 with my current Videocard.

    Atleast it works.

So do I, as without Stasio's patching of the Intel RST firmware my Assassin2 would be in the garbage right now. Thing didn't remotely run stable until he updated the 12r to include the iRST latest code.

Of course, it would be nice to have all of the other code updated... but nothing else appears to be effecting stabilitiy for me. Though I do have the system running DAILY backups to a USB 3.0 Seagate drive because of the history with the computer crashing and not recovering well.

It's very difficult to find a BIOS, "Modified BIOS" first page would need a refresh... but Ace will be very brave...
