^ Q-Flash version is updated in X79 latest BIOS,
so please flash with @BIOS (X79) or EFIFLASH in DOS.
    EFIFLASH is in F3p BIOS

Thanks I was just about to edit my comment to say that I'm going to try it with the DOS method. I have f3p and will grab it and use the dos method with default BIOS settings.

UPDATE: I figured out the problem and solved it Stacio through the help of reading old posts from you and virtualfred. I'm going to PM you because I don't want to cause another user problems until you've seen the message.

X79-UP4 f3x is a huge step in the right direction for gigabyte in my opinion. I overclock with a bunch of Asus users and I really felt the BIOS was lacking, but f3x is on a path that might make the BIOS give me a reason to buy another gigabyte board, because the board is great, the BIOS is what I've been basing my next purchasing decision on.

There are a few bugs in f3x, but overall it performs MUCH better, its snappy, my mouse works, and when typing like saving a profile name, the keyboard and interface feel responsive instead of muddy and slow. Theres a ton of new settings and options, and there's some things that apply to non ivy bridge users added.

Thanks stasio for your patience and helping me figure things out.

As expected, nothing has changed compared to F16c/F15. It still breaks on my board.

Here's a handy video if anyone interested:

PS: is there a code like [spoiler] to hide all the optional stuff?

    ^Unfortunately,GB didn't update Manuals yet.
As I didn't use Win 8/8.1 (still a lot of bugs and black holes),I cann't help much.
Maybe somebody else can comment your video.
    Btw,
at least BCLK is 100 now.

    Edit:
Did you try apply different setting,
definetly this your setting didn't work (can boot)?

Well, the OS part is only relevant for flashing the firmware, and there I don't have any complaints.

Yes, overall it's less buggy than F15 was for me.

Not really sure what are you asking, but I've tried various configurations: changed nothing, changed most of the settings, loading optimized defaults ― it doesn't really matter as it still infiniboots after second power cycle (you can actually boot for the very first time after flashing if you skip the UEFI configuration).

    I Flashed my GX-X79-UP4 from F3t to F3x.

It seems that the F3x BIOS is incompatible whit the intel Smart Response technology.
See my thread for more details: http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post464322

    1. You might want to start your own thread for this, so we dont clog up Stasio's bios thread.

    2. Why did you use @bios to flash bios? Not wrong just not advised to unless need for like x79 users were GB updated Q-flash.

    3. Even thought you selected to load defaults, it is still suggested that you enter bios immediately after first boot and load optimized defaults. Save and exit, then renter bios and make your changes.

    4. After clearing Cmos you need to enter (Try to enter) bios and again load optimized defaults before letting it try and boot to windows.

Can you get back into the bios and reflash F16 from q-flash and then load optimized defaults after first reboot and see if you can boot into windows, either before or after making your changes?
