I have X79-UP4 and i cannot overclock my 3930K at all with this bios
How can i revert back to an older BIOS than F4 modded.

Changing the CPU ratio doesnt have any effect at all.
I want to flash with an older BIOS like eg. F3u but i cant.

Q-Flash Says the bios i try to flash is outdated kai the windows utility doesnt allow me either
I also tried the DOS utility, no success . I received the same message... the bios i try to flash is outdated...
    What should i do?

Try using DUALBIOS to restore the back-up BIOS(hopefully it's an older version)

Anything I should be aware of at this point... Stasio got me the last modded one with the updated Intel code for the various SATA RAID code (eRST/iRST, etc.) last time.

Also, has anyone actually updated the firmware so that the Sound Blaster shows up as a real Sound Blaster, than can get driver updates? etc...
    12s is the latest.
However as for the Sound blaster matey its been like that since launch on every released bios.

I have the similiar issues like in this Thread.

    4 dimm bios issues

The system starts only after many attempts and want load the optimized settings.
It doesn´t matter if I use 1333 MHz and CL9 or CL8 and 1,5V or 1,55V or disable the C-states.

Other people buy new Ram, but I will use it further on and I hope Gigabyte will improve Crucial ram compatibility.

    X79-UP4
    i7 3930K

Well i have tried 4-5 different BIOS and i still face the same problem.

I disable Intel's Turbo , i also disable all energy saving features and i just change the main Ratio from 32 to 40.

When i restart and re-enter BIOS CPU is shown @3800.
No matter what ratio i set the max it shows is 3800.

    Any ideas? :/

I have a totally different board, but it might still be the same for you:

Even if I disable Turbo Boost, if I had set the turbo multipliers, those will override the main multiplier. The main multiplier only works fine if everything about Turbo Boost is set to Auto.

Another problem is, sometimes the BIOS gets broken and won't take changes in some settings. For example, changing memory multiplier doesn't do anything, but changing voltages still works. This can only be fixed by loading optimized defaults and restarting.

This belongs in another thread, now that we've narrowed down that it's not the new beta BIOS. But since you're in a bind I'll post here, You need to enable turbo boost and/or EIST, enable those two and try it with your multiplier at 40. You can't run a multiplier above stock without turbo boost or EIST on some combinations and that seems like the issue you're having.

I would enable turbo boost, EIST and C1E, disable the other speed steps (C3, C6, and C7 if there is one) and CPU temp monitoring, set all turbo multipliers to 40 and enable turbo boost. Set your regular multiplier to 40 as well. See what that does for you. You've probably already started another thread but just in case this should get you headed in the right direction.

You can overclock BCLK strap with EIST turbo boost disabled, it's the overclocked multiplier that requires turbo boost enabled usually on CPU's I've seen that had that requirement. If the multipliers under 38 then it's fine with EIST or turbo boost disabled and clock speed still overclocked.

The other problem that's possible, is you have some kind of CPU Freq software like Easy Tune or Intel XTreme Tuning installed and it's jacking with settings behind the scenes and screwing up what you didnt think was possible.

    No change log on X05 ???? or F7B ?
need to know if it is worth it flashing over X02..... cause X04 was abysmal lol

    ------------------------------

    Just tested out : GA-Z87X-OC - X05
terrible, just like X04 was, also they still have not fixed the misaligned bclk you have to set it to manual /101 to get correct readings.
what the **** are they doing with this board. X02 is awesome fantastico and yet they are going backwards, also stability is not as good as X02 for some reason.... still getting the odd BSOD116 on X05 and X04 and every so often on X02 but at least X02 is consistent and stability is there after i get through windows login without 116BSODing.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Stick with the latest modded X02 peeps cause X05 is crap just my personal opinion, try it you will see, i am guessing they used that ****pile F7 bios to customise X05 like they did with X04 :/

Stasio, thanks for keeping 'em betas coming.
Wanted to report some stuff (maybe already have been reported)
GA-Z77X-UD3H : mouse and keyboard often stop responding in UEFI setup (keyboard sometimes acts
like arrow down button is being stuck - cycles through settings infinitely) when connected to VIA
controlled ports (solved by switching to Intel ones, but still would be nice to have a proper fix. Keyboard and mouse
are generic as they come. Also tried another keyboard - same stuff). Also sometimes after pressing DEL there's just
blue screen (not a Windows one) instead of UEFI setup.Have been experiencing this behaviour on all recent(late 2012-now)
betas. System is not overclocked - i7-3770@3.4, Turbo Off, 16GB Crucial Ballistix 1866@1600 CL8 - passed memtest.

Thanks again to You and virtualfred for your good work and have a nice day/eve.
