Ok, so the problem(s) is(are) with the bios.

The last time i tested Windows 8.1 ,not with the F20 bios, when i enabled Fast Boot (set to ultrafast), the boot was terribly fast (no more splash logo, can't enter in bios setting even if i press the Del key like a Ninja), after a clear Cmos, everythings works.

Maybe a user here with W 8.1 and the UD3 mobo can try to reproduce your issue

I don't know how you flash your Bios, but you should disable Fast Boot if you've enabled it, you should make a clear cmos and try again with the F20 mod or not, and also inform the Gigabyte support.

The same problem was with F16(the first BIOS to have SecureBoot and Fast boot). What I mean is when I enable SecureBoot it can't boot, at all. Not even the CPU_FAN starts spinning. The only way to recover from this is do a manual DUALBIOS flashback from the backup bios. @Stasio please inform HQ that newer BIOS vers have the same SecureBoot bug as F16.

I had the Secure boot 'bug' with F8 on the Z87X-OC but after changing the secure boot BIOS setting to custom and back to default it solved itself :P

You may find some answer there since your Sappire 7970 may not have the UEFI vBIOS.

Hi Guys, !!!!!!!!DON'T FLASH F8B BIOS ON Z87HD3 MAINBOARD YOU CAN'T GO BACK TO OLDER VERSION !!!!!!

i have a Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Mainboard and had the new F8b Bios flashed on it, now i have the problem that my R9 280x are always go in energy savemod when i use some 3D application or in Windows Desktop. I can use my PC only with the Windows standard Driver to avoid the energy savemod. I have tested other Drivers CAT14.4, 14.3,13.12 its not the Driver.

Thats not the problem at all, now i want to reflash the older bios F7c that i had before but when i try to reflash with QFlash, EfiFlash or Gigabyte @Bios i become everytime a Message the bios is outdated, i also tryed the BAckup Bios reflash with ALT F10 shortkey in bios but the F8b bios is also on the Backup Bios. I have also tryed to flash F8a, F7, F7a, F7b, F7c, F7d everytime i become a outdated bios message.

What can i do now to Reflash the old one F7C Bios ?

And Sorry for bad English :).

Testing sniper M5 F9A.... another nightmare.

Sometimes I get two vga listed on devices. One recognized as a generic vga adapter (cpu vga is disabled on bios). Also got messages from ati drivers... "the vga driver stopped working and was recovered" None of this nonsense happens on F7 (F8 final build is as bad as F9A)

    DDR3 2400 support is awful.

    Screen freezes, blue screen...

efiflash flashed both bios slots, so not sure if I can flash back a previous version.

Can gigabyte make a proper bios for this board?
