THanks for the response. Just flashed F10c but still the same issue. Gigabyte support has been a joke so far. Offered a couple of suggestions over the span of a couple of days but now wanting me to just RMA the board. I don't really feel like taking the whole PC apart and waiting weeks to get a refurb back.

I don't think a bios is going to fix it. I never had any problems with my Z87X-UD5H so it must be something else. I've had experience with Gigabyte repairs.....they will fix your current board if possible, and ship it back UPS 3 day (or at least they did for me). Turn around time from Florida to California where Gigabyte is was around 11 days. Anyway good luck.

I have the same motherboard and experienced a similar problem when trying to use VIA VL812 usb 3 hubs. what I had to do was a complete bios motherboard reset pulling the battery on the motherboard, unplugging and hitting bios resets and holding power to drain any caps or remaining power. my USB ports were also "disabled"

    Board has Renesas hubs BTW.
But still sounds like a good idea.

yeah I know, I'm just saying I've used a couple external USB 3 hubs with those chipsets that have given me that same exact problem

Thanks for the suggestion. Just gave it a shot and still no luck. I've got an RMA submitted and going to take apart this weekend... sigh

"GA-Z97X-SOC Force - F6" bios made my comp blue screen during start up to windows 8.1 (with the same oc settings as bios F5 was 100% stable with) also it blue screen during the startup from usb when installing win 8.1. Flashed back to F5 and everything was back to normal w/o any problems.

Anyone els having problems with this new f6 bios to the z97x soc force mobo ?

I updated my z87 UD5H to F10c bios which seems to work great and looks like it cured my problem with computer freezing when typing "@-sign" :) (must have been some usb, keyboard, app center language setting bug )
Anyways new problem is now that Easytune says I must update easytune from app center and closes but there is no update at app center update tool :(

I will redownload it from the link you provided in #1 and flash it from another usb mem and see if it helps.
    Thank you.

*Okay now it seems to work fine. I think the first time i went from f5 > f6 i forgot to "load optimized defaults" in bios save and reboot before setting up my oc settings.
