Hey Boe323, its the x-fi onboard driver i was after, those links stasio are not going to work as gigabyte modded the chip so much the drivers wont install.(gigabyte need to use the latest driver set and mod them).

After my assassin 2 x79 $900 disaster im not sure a x99 from gigabyte is on the cards.

I solved the problem to a point with the PaX modded drivers, but this isnt a solution that 100%.

    Things that need fixing :

New e2100 driver (killer lan onboard)
    xfi drivers for win8.1 (onboard)
    solid final bios

Does anyone here have experience with the WHEA Id 18 Error?

    Reported by component: Processor Core
    Error Source: Machine Check Exception
    Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
    Processor ID: 4
I'm being told it could be caused by Gigabyte Boards only due to unstable BIOS.

I had the same issue on the Gigabyte Z87X-OC (F7) and currently the Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H (F9)

    Using the following settings:

    CPU Model: Intel Core 4770K
    Core Multiplier: 45x
    CPU VID: 1.175
    Vcore: 1.188
    Uncore Multiplier: 33x
    Uncore Voltage: 1.100
    Input Voltage: 1.800
    Cooling Solution: Noctua NH-U14S (Push/Pull)
Stability Test: Mainly endless gaming sessions, and OCCT+AVX to reach the initial OC.
Batch Number: Malaysia L312B364 (bought 5-June-2013)
    Ram Speed: 2133 MHz, 9-11-1-28 / 1T
    Ram Voltage: 1.650
    LLC Setting: Extreme (100%)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H
This been stable for 6 weeks now.

Yesterday i returned to my PC after an hour idle, and when i opened IE11 it turned into a BSOD 124 with Windows Log showing WHEA Id 18 Cache Error.

Don't bother to tell me it's Low Vcore, because i went as high as 1.250 and it makes no difference, the WHEA Id 18 keeps returning from time to time.

I've seen others get that error. It's not a "Gigabyte" thing....that's just more Gigabyte haters jawing BS.
I personally have never had that error.

That's a pretty low vcore for a x45 clock....I suggest bumping it up, as indicated by the 124 code BSOD.

As i said, i went as high as 1.25v and it doesn't matter.

So it has nothing to do with VCore.

Yep, I missed that line I guess. But from the Haswell cpu's I've seen reported, 1.25v is actually below average for 4.5. Mine does 4.5 on less but mine is an exceptional cpu.
The WHEA 18 I've not seen any particular fix for yet, so I'm not sure if it's any kind of voltage related error like the WHEA errors of IB cpu's.

It's just super lame i can Game for weeks and weeks without issues, and then when i open Internet Explorer it BSODs with 124 Cache Error >_>

Just makes no sense to me.

The 1.175v is stable as it passes OCCT Linpack + AVX just fine.

I've been testing x45 @ 1.175 vcore with Prime 95 and no BSOD's or codes so far. I'll just leave the vcore set and see if any errors pop up....that is as long as it will sleep OK at that setting.

Any more posts we better make another thread and not clog this one up.

Hope someone can point me on the right direction. I'm trying to flash the latest beta (GA-Z87MX-D3H - F7b) to my Z87MX-D3H but it doesn't matter if I try with efiflash.exe (on a bootable usb) or directly from Bios Q-Flash. Always throw me the error "The current flash utility is outdated" however if try to flash again F5 or F6 it doesn't have problems, and those BIOS validate with out a problem. the EFIflash.exe i'm using is v0.36 which is the included on the BIOS F6 from gigabyte website. Is there any new version ?

I want to try this BIOS because, I'm having this problem with PCI Gen3

    Thanks.

I do not know what the latest version of efiflash is, but have you tried updating @BIOS to the latest version and using it?
You will probably have to install the App center first, then let it do a live update check and install @BIOS.
