    Hi Satasio

Just purchased a GA X99 UD4 ver 1.0 and the other components CPU etc. listed in my specs and I'm wondering when I should update the BIOS if I'm going to be setting it up from the start to only use UEFI (EG disable Legacy from the start)?

Is it best to do the initial update of the BIOS in QFlash before installing the OS or afterwards in @Bios in Windows or should I use the new QFlash plus before putting anything in the board?

I will use the latest stable BIOS when I do this unless you think I should use the Beta bios from the start as posted by you? I'm just wanting to make sure I do this in the right sequence with regards to the UEFI so I don't have any unforseen issues.

    Thanks for any info

    Cheers Q

Flashing BIOS (F12) is not depend on Operating system (Legacy or UEFI),so best is to flash with Q-Flash plus (no components) or other methods (with components).

I've been using BIOS F15q (latest official Beta) with my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard. However the AC BACK = ON feature to turn the system back on after a power outage doesn't seem to work in F15q.

I then updated to the F16g Beta listed in these forums and despite Intel Virtualization Technology being ENABLED, Hyper-V doesn't start in Windows 8. Says Hypervisor not running. Downgrading from F16g back to F15q addresses the Virtualization issue.

I leave my PC hooked up to a UPS. But when there's a power outage, the PC shutdowns successfully. When the power is stored, the PC doesn't come back on despite AC BACK = ON. Instead I must manually press the PC power button to start it back up.

Unless someone has a workaround for this, your best bet might be to contact Gigabyte support and see if they can fix a BIOS for you. Have you tried earlier BIOS versions than F15q?

Something doesnt seem right, GA-Z97X-UD3H had a F8 BIOS posted by this forum in late November, I was assuming it was the Final F8 BIOS since it was listed here as F8 no letters on the end, The F8 BIOS never showed up on GIGABYTE's site.

Now they have a F8e BETA BIOS, Im Confused here :(
