You should give a try with Asus one. It is the only vendor which has the newest microcode integrated in their newest bios. The user "Fugger" from www.xtremesystems.org has with his Maximus VII Gene even better overclocking results thanks to the newer microcode.
It's a shame that Asus is the only vendor who inserted he newer microcode and ME firmware in the bioses of some Mainboards from their Z97 lineup. Microcode and ME firmware is long available, but every manufacturer but Asus is too lazy to integrate them or it is pure intention to push the mediocre Skylake. Mediocre when considering the former high expectations and that you will have to buy a expensive Z170 board and invest in DDR4.
Just checked.....
Maximus VII Gene latest BIOS 2801 has same Intel Microcode and ME firmware as Gigabyte Z97 series.

Thanks for checking. . That"s useful. So it appears the SOC force shoud have proper bdw suport, despite not having in its support list. Besides, I checked inside F8d and found Broadwell v11, which should indicate that we deal more with Gigabyte not updating the llist than lack of support. That shows their interest in broadwell ...Now how can a board be fine with g3258 OC and a stock 5675 and act crazy while oc'ing the 5675 ? stasio, could you try and mod f8d with v12 and latest ME and let me try it ? If you don't have ongoing beta work on this board, I suppose it would make afine release to put here anyway.

I flashed f8d modded. Thanks again. Here's what I found so far:

- Improvements in readings (multi reads correctly in BIOS (31/36 instead of 26/31) both bios and EZtune reports vid correctly (mine is 1.176). No more 1.1 when trying an offset
- Overclockability is still impossible (Continuous beeps, backup bios kicks in) whether changes from BIOS or EZtune.
- Drop in performance : -3 Gflops in Linpack (74max from 77 max )
- Drop in max temps : from 71 max on core 0 & 1 and 65 max on core 2 & 3 down to 66 Max / 60 Max. (IntelBurnTest/4GB ram. This is with stock settings, bios defaults + xmp 1600/8.8.8.24.

I have intel latest ME driver that matches the image you flashed in modded bios. Strike that : I found a more recent MEI. Installing ....

I tried tiny overclocks, like upping just the turbo multi in BIOS by 2 with the same result (short continuous beeps). No amount of voltage helps. My CPU might be a dud but I doudb't it since Intel XTU achieves some results (4.1) until reboot (and error)

From this point, I guess either the mobo is defective or the SOC force has a problem with the i5-5675C. Or socket has pin damage after all ?

Something interesting with BDW and this bios : voltage will drop even with W10 "high perf" power settings ON. Both EZtune and CPU-z report correctly.
Thanks again for your help, that was priceless.
On Broadwell /DT, I was glad to try it out but I will return it, since the window is closing and I can't see getting any progress with clocking anytime soon. But I will definitely try another Broadwell on the road ahead. Maybe a 65 or even 35W xeon that look so sexy, if I can't clock bdw anyway... That's plenty of processing power for me and stupid-efficient with great graphics.

With modded bios, IME driver won't start, MEI various tools will report errors and driver is greyed out in devmgmt.msc (not started) Reinstalling driver will print : "platform not supported". That's weird. Investigating....

I almost bricked my board : flashed the backup bios by mistake :) Anyway, after I recovered from the bootloops (on both bios, both with f8d modified) I reflashed both with F7. I recovered with a dGpu btw.

With F7, no more bootloops and IBT is back to 78 Gflops. Still no OC though. The multiplier reading issue in bios seems to come and go.

While the IPC was indeed somewhat affected with f8d + cpu mc 12 for bdw (78>74), the temperature drop was a mistake on my part: it's just cooler today here :) Stupid me.

I guess I can safely say that I'm worse with a beta BIOS than the stock F7. I don't care much for the Intel management thing but I'm not shure whether something is worth updating in F7. At the least, unless I have a bad cpu or mobo, I would say SOC FORCE+ BROADWELL is a BAD6BAD COMBO. someone correct me please : I would love to.

Thanks for your inputs.

I didn't understand what else you wont to flash in modded BIOS F8d ?
Latest MEI driver you can install in your Operating System.
Supose to have as bellow:

sorry, I didn't mean I needed to flash anything more. Just that after installing the modded beta, everything broke. I might have a hardware problem. I'm just gonna giveuo, reinstall the pentium and a gpu. If I can get my hands on an i5 or a xeon haswell, that's how this board will carry on with its life.
Any idea why IPC would drop by 4-5% with modded bios ? That was reproductible and verified..
