    Hi there,

Is it possible to see specifics about F8g for the x79-up4 board?

I've been looking at going to a Xeon CPU and F7, on gigabyte's website, doesn't have the 2690v2 or the 2696v2 or the 2697v2 as compatible. Doesn't make sense to me so I'm curious if your bios addresses this?

    thanks and great thread!

    Hi there,

I appreciate the response but I'm not seeing a changelog. I'm a total noob here so I apologize. I'm sure you're aware of the OC'ing issues on the x79-up4 vs about any other board in existence. Do the latest bios help with that or add more compatibility with the Xeons I mentioned above?

    Thanks again,

    jb

That's pretty vague and unhelpful to be honest.

I did download and installed F8g and, so far, my 2 x Gskill 2400mhz 32 GB kits = 64GB total appear to now be working at rated speed with the XMP Profile 1 setting. Before it wouldn't boot using XMP and now it appears to be functioning well. On F7 I was forced to run them at 2133. This alone brought my GB score up by 200 points and dramatically increased my memory bandwidth.

CPU overclocking appears to remain abysmal compared to ASUS.

Maybe that could be added to the change log.

    Thanks again and great work,

    jb

Using bios f5a on the 170 gaming g1 i can no longer boot from my nvme drive while the sata controller is in raid mode, i have dual bios so i know this works in f3.

Intel Core i7-5775C, Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97, BIOS F8a. It does not change the multiplier CPU. Can something be done? (translate.google)
