Well, I tried out the IRQs 3-11 and I guess that's enough. The BIOS seems to be uncapable to properly assign an IRQ to this very souncard.
As this is relatively new mainboard, perhaps Gigabyte will eventually release an update to address the issue as soon as more users will come across similar problems.

Sorry about that, Wish you could have found one.

But yeah, as I said I have seen a Few users with older and newer even X-FI cards and they do not work very well with the new Boards. Older cards for sure

    Thanks Lsdmeasap.

I've already ordered the X-Fi Titanium (PCIe), hope it works as it should.

I'm very dissapointed at this point with Gigabyte. I've been using their motherboards for many years and also recommending them to friends as stable and reliable basis to build a PC and I never came across such an issue.
The amount of PCI slots on the GA-EP45-UD3R suggests it's designed for users who don't want to resign from using the obsolete (?) PCI standard.

The new card should arrive in 2 days or so, I post back how it works.

Arrr! Did you not read anything I wrote? HAHA No really.

I said X-FI has issues, and I suggested brands that have been know to work fine

No offense meant by that above, I just can't believe you too such a risk man!

Well, good luck and I hope it does work for you. If so, please do post back and link us to the exact card incase someone asks later on

I do read what you're writing but we're talking about PCI cards and not PCIe ones. If Titanium doesn't work it means GA-EP45-UD3R has issues and not X-Fi itself.

Brands you suggested are build around HD Oxygen Chip and don't provide sound quality I can accept. (I've been using Xonar DX for a month and couldn't stand it any longer.)
I'm not a risk man - I'm allowed to return the card within 10 days.

    Here's the card I ordered:

Ahh, yeah I see what you mean about PCI and PCI-e.

And you are likely the correct one about the brands, I have never used anything but onboard so I would have no idea what is good and what itsn't!

So, good luck with that card and please do post back if it works for you. And thanks for the link as well

My speakers (Logitech's Z-2300) have no mercy for lousy soundcards. Actually Xonar performs worse than GA-EP45-UD3R's onboard (in my subjective opinion).
I'd rather give up the motherboard than good sound quality as my pc is being used as a jukebox.
I hope X-Fi issues you mentioned don't apply to PCIe favour.
As there's an holiday in my country, my card will arrive on Thursday. I hope to have good news by then.

As promised, I write back to say the PCIe X-Fi (Titanium) is working perfectly. All problems vanished and I hope it stays that way.
Therefore I can recommend this solution for anybody experiencing similar issues as of mine.
