Default I'm unable to overclock my CPU with Easytune.

I'm unable to overclock my CPU with Easytune.

I was cleaning the dust out of my computer and I apparently bumped something, and when I restarted the computer, it automatically reset to default settings. Now when I tried to overclock using Easytune 5, I can't click on the "Overclock" button. It is unselectable. I then updated my BIOS and installed Easytune 6, and I still have the same problem. I can't select the "tuner" tab or the "Smart" tab in easytune 6.

Is there something I need to change in the BIOS in order to allow overclocking again???

I also overclocked the FSB to 438 in the BIOS, but in windows its only showing 333, something isn't communicating apparently.

    Thanks!!!

    -Kurt

All overclocking Should be done in the BIOS.

With that being said, it sounds like you need to disable EIST and C1E again in the advanced BIOS page

I was having the same problem with Easytune 5, that is why I went to ET 6.

What does this program show >>>
    CPUID

And as said above ET 6 is not compatible with your board, here is the latest ET 5 >>>

Just go in the BIOS and on the MAIN page load and apply optimized defaults that will be just as good. Then set your ram voltage and then save and apply and reboot BACK to the BIOS as you will have to set your SATA and disk settings again BEFORE You load windows

If you want to reset the CMOS anyway, here is how in post #2 of the Qflash guide >>>

Well, things just went from bad to worse. I loaded the optimized defaults, and now my computer hangs on restarts. I makes it about 10 seconds or so and freezes, and it freezes in different spots. I can't get into the bios either. It has never done this before.

    What do I do now???

Also... what SATA and disk setting would I need to change???

What you may need to do is 'unbump' whatever it was you bumped when cleaning the dust out.

Have you re-seated all connections on your motherboard, drives etc.?

Particularly, make very sure your RAM is properly seated and all power connections are secure.

Incidentally, the best way to remove dust is to lock all fans and use compressed air that way your clumsy fingers are not in amongst the works.

Does a better cleanup, too, but do take the box outside or you'll be in the doghouse with the cleaner-upperer.
