A's frequency was 266. B is the only one for 333. Unless I was completely intoxicated or something.
Oh i read the rest of your post. lol I'll try that tomorrow. Hopefully it works. That would also explain why the 3.00 was no luck.

2.40 is ONLY available with the 333 strap, Strap in Auto this would be 2.40B

Here is what memory multi's are available for what straps >>>

Would using the 2.00 on the 400MHz give me 800mhz for the dram? My processor's fsb is 333, would I have to overclock it to 8x400 =3.2GHz?

Yes, you can use 2.00D for 800Mhz. And yes to run that to be 800 you would need 400 FSB with either B ro D multi (If you want to use B you may need to use 399 FSB)

Can I just set my multiplier and frequency to OC? Will the mobo's autosetting adjust voltages accordingly, or would I have to manually increase voltage?

Do it manually, Auto volts will kill your CPU. Especially Vtt (Termination) and Pll. Vcore may get excessive with that in Auto but it would not be as bad as Vtt and Pll Auto gets.

So.... yes all should be done manually for sure if you want to keep your CPU very long

Yeap, just raise FSB until it fails then add some voltages until it does not, and of course keep a eye on what your ram speed is and adjust accordingly if it gets too high. Best to Set all the ram timings very loose so you know failures is not a ram issue when you are trying to overclock your CPU
