    Question EP43-DS3L and E7200

    I have recently purchased this MOBO and CPu combination. I have read that people easily achieve 3.2 GHz but cannot achieve this myself. I have tried 9.5x333. I boot Vista OK, but then it freezes when I start Prime95 or some other intensive app. I have managed stable 9.5x300 and 3.00 System Memory Multiplier.
    My configuration is as follows:

    E7200
    EP43-DS3L with F8 BIOS
    OCZ 2x1GB 1066MHz
    OCZ 500w StealthXStream
    Vista SP1 Ultimate 32Bit

    Any help on BIOS settings would be appreciated.

    8x402 may be best for 3.2, with 3.20B or 2.66D as your ram multi

    Please post for me what exactly you are using and I will advise back some suggested ranges >>>

    My memory is OCZ PC-8500 Platinum CL5, I think this is it.

    OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Platinum SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel

    The site I have purchased it on is in my on language (Serbian), so I think this one will do :)

    When I come home I found out that I had 9 hour no error run from prime95 with 333x9.5.

    With this setings I had maximum core temp 65C with stock cooler.

    Can you help me improve my BIOS settings? My RAm is rated 2.1V so I think I should raise it from 1.9? How far do you think I can safely go with my setup?

    Well since it ran that long with no errors you would be fine with 1.9-2.0 on your ram, you may need to set 2.0 or 2.1 as you tighten things up, but that 2.1 rating is only MAX Warrantied not what it has to have to run.

    I think you can go maybe a little bit more, but maybe not much until you get a better cooler.

    Thank you very much. I've made the adjustments you recomended and will leave the prime95 overnight to check on the temperatures. With my previous settings max temperature was 65C. I will not go further without better cooler.
    Another question: what do you think is the better combination 9.5x333 or 8x400 since they make aproximately the same total clock?

    I would use 8x400 if that is as fast as you want to go for now till you get a better cooler. Not because you may use 1:1 multi, but higher FSB would provide better results is why

    Thank you! You have been great help. I will try 8x400. You said that I should 1:1 for memory, but since my memory is 1066 maybe I should use 2.66? Does higher memory frequency yield better results than 1:1 ratio?
