Question EP45-UD3P boot problem -- odd one

Here's a boot problem I've never encountered before. When system has been running, restart goes smoothly. If I leave the sytem off overnight, first 6-10 boot attempts will fail. Failures occur at various places -- during POST, during Windows load, in BIOS. What ideas do you have?

    System
    motherboard: EP45-UD3P
    CPU: E8500
    Memory: Corsair 2X2GB 1066 @1066 and 2.1 V
    not overclocked

Thanks in advance for your help !

Additional info: once system boots and runs I can run Orthos for 24 hours with no issues. Have done that several times now.

    Ideas?

I would say because of initial start up load (Current) naturally being high, that coupled with less than ideal memory settings, is highlighting a problem that is just on the threshold of occurring. Because it's on the threshold, it's not noticed once windows is up and running and you warm restart etc.

    Edit:-
Try settings (in bios MIT section):-

    1) Perfomance Enhance = Standard
    2) tRFC (Refresh To Act Delay) to anything inbetween 52-62. I'd try 56.

I'm not sure if you had seen i had edited my above post?

You could also let us know your basic memory timings and if you are running your Corsair 1066 ram at 1066Mhz or something else, such as 800Mhz.

sskings - I have an amost identical setup (E8500, EP45-UD3P, Corsiar Dominator @ 1066) and have had similar issues. Check out this thread....the settings might help.
