Default GA-EP45-DS4 Reboots randomly at post

    Hi all,

I've a new GA-EP45-DS4 motherboard and it started enter a reboot loop randomly during post from day one... Motherboard logo shows up, fans kick in and after that it reboots during memory testing i presume. Sometimes there is no problem at all. My hardware is :

    GA-EP45-DS4
    Core2Duo E8500 @3.16Ghz
    2x2GB OCZ PLATINUM 4GB 1066 MHz DDR2
    SAPPHIRE ATI HD 4850 512MB
    2xSEAGATE 250GB 7200RPM 16MB NCQ SATA2 (RAID 0)
    CoolerMaster Case (600W)
    BIOS F7

No overclocking or what so ever applied on the card, bios values are optimized defaults... I've checked out similar threads and tried increasing ram voltages but no luck with that. I am clueless really, any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

So you can get in the BIOS then right? If so use one stick of ram until I can get you sorted out. Please run memtest86+ on each stick of ram one at a time (5-10 passes) at stock to be sure you do not have a faulty stick >>>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Do this test with Performance enhance set to standard (Likely part of your issue) set main timings to stock, ram speed to stock, and manually set the ram voltages.

If both stick pass, great. Please give me a link to your exact ram and fill this in with what you are trying and I will advise back >>>

    Hi Lsdmeasap,

Thank you for your reply, as i've mentioned the situation is totally random. I've tried with only one ram stick, changed slots, and tried every combination. On every try, it may boot normally or start rebooting with no reason... I also tried setting performance enhanced to standart, but it didn't work.

So you are saying that i should set the voltages manually, what should be the values? I have no experience really

Ohh yeah, you should for sure set some voltages manually. I would set MCH Voltage to 1.2-1.3 for 2x2GB (1.24-1.28 may be good)

And manually set your ram voltage to spec, post a link to your ram please and I will advise you on that

Timings in Auto may also cause issues as well with 2x2GB, can you please post me a image of Memset so I can see what Auto is giving you for alot of your timings >>>
