Vcore of 1.4v is not really a wise idea on air. 1.375v is where you should probably feel safe.... everyone has their own threshhold for voltage and temps. I'm on water and I like low 50's loaded, but then again I'm in Florida and I run my rig 24/7/365.

With what you describe on benching I would say your CPU is tapped out. Try 1.375 or 1.38125v and see where you get. Your memory is plenty loose enough @ 5-5-5-15..... it's probably not the memory.

    Try:

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 4
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 4
Write to Precharge Delay_________ 6>> 8
Refresh to ACT Delay______________ 54>> 58/60
    Read to Precharge Delay__________ 4
    Where's your Command Rate??__________ 2T

    Static tRead Value_______________ 8>> 9/10

    GMuch up to +0.3v
Whats is your vdimm (DDR voltage)? Give it 0.2v over stock for now. We're shooting to see where the CPU tops out, so eliminate the memory as a possibility by giving it a little juice and loosening it up a bit.

I'd guess you could see 3375- 3400mhz or so if you went about this methodically, but you are just shooting in the dark right now jumping all over the place without knowing where your CPU or memory really maxes out. Benches are failing then you go and change settings on the memory AND the CPU?? Figure out where one peaks and then tweak the other in. I'd try 9 x 375fsb and 2.00B on the memory with 5-5-5-15 timings and the changes I recommended above. Don't mean to sound harsh, but hone in on one piece at a time.

Overclocking is a fine art that takes days and even weeks to find the sweet spot.

I'll post my sweet spot in about 15 minutes and I've had this combo for seven days now ;) Can't count how many rigs I built, but each one takes about a week to get happy.

i'll try those settings, there isnt a command rate in the bios. but its 2T in memset.
MCH +0.3? Is it going to stay at +0.3 even when i finish OCing?

It crashed running OCCT with the settings above.

I'll try 9x375 with MCH +0.3 and above settings
    Edit: crashed in OCCT
I'll try getting 3.2 stable before moving on.
I finally found out what caused the double/triple reboot, if i turn the PSU switch from the back, off and on next boot will fail once. If i dont touch the switch it wont happen.

post your full settings now and lets see if we can get 3.5g out of this thing .

Using your settings above i cant seem to get it stable at 3.2, without boosting my vcore above 1.375. However my temps at 1.4v is around low 50 to mid 40 at full load.

those temps seem OK. What stress program? P95?

I just hate to see a quad at 1.4v. Maybe for short bench runs it's OK, but for me even if temps were OK I'd stay below 1.4v for 24/7 use. I know the board undervolts a bit (look in windows), but over time voltage (heat) is what kills stuff.

yes i use prime95, i ran 7hours while i was at school and temps were at 45 maximum recorded by real temp. my settings were everything above but MCH at 0.2 and 8x402=3.2 and voltage at 1.4

If i wanted to go beyond 3.2 would you recommend 8x425 or 9x375?

I would always recommend the higher multiplier to put less stress on the memory running 1:1. It eliminates memory as the problem to an extent and you can keep tight timings on the memory.

MCH +0.3 is safe and will give you stability. Put MCH at +0.3 and try 9x375fsb at 1.3875v for starters..... then change ONLY ONE thing at a time if it fails. Start with 4-4-4-12 as the memory will only be underclocked at DDR750- see this kinda takes the memory out of the picture for now.

You may get it stable at 3.4g on 9x, but that does not mean you will get it stable at 3.4g @ 8x. Some CPU's/mobo's do just not play well at higher FSB settings. Those are the boards I always end up with :(

kk thanks i'll change to 9x375 and mch to +0.30 and vcore at 1.3875
i'll run OCCT and if it passes i'll run prime. i'll tell you the results if it pass/fails.
    OCCT crashed straight away ;/
    Crashed again with memory 4/4/4/12
i might have to stick with 3.2
