    Default stuck at 9 x 370mhz -- E8400 --ep45 ds3l

    so after finding out everest sucks i'm starting in on some minor overclocking

    I've found its pretty stable at 370 x 9 = 3.33ghz (1.225 Vcore, Auto). But i wanted around a 3.5-3.6 which shoudld be very doable. I'll be running an actaull stress test tonight to see how it does.

    But, whenever i try to exceed 370, for ex: 375, 380 or 390? it won't boot. I've tried voltages on vcore from 1.25 - 1.31 and Auto.

    I got it to post partially on 380mhz once with a Vcore setting i forgot. But the DMI pool data failed so thats no good.

    all other voltages are set to normal besides ram rated at 2.0

    What are some common settings you guys use for overclocking your same model mobo/proc??

    I have essentialy the same specs as you do(well, except for brand). I am currently running stable at 400x8=3.2ghz(1.2000V reported by CPUZ, so a little bit slower than my setting which I forgot) So I am looking for a way to get to 3.6ghz as well.

    you should up your multiplier to 9 =3600 right?


    I don't think i am able to get my multiplier above 9X with the mobo. any one been able to do it?

    9 multiplier is the max for your CPU

    Sounds like you need some Vtt and MCH voltage added (DO NOT USE AUTO for PLL and Vtt when overclocking!)

    Set Pll to stock, and Vtt to 1.2-1.34 (At 3.2-3.6 1.24-1.3 should be good)

    If you still continue to have issues fill this in with what you are trying that fails and I will advise back >>>

    Ok here are my settings! I wasn't planning on / didn't think i needed to OC
    my RAM. but i did the finger test and its very cool, so i'm considering it

    K this will have loose ram timings and added voltages so you should be able to Raise your FSB for sure to get where you want >>>>

    At 850+ Ram speed you will likely need to use 544-12 or 544-15. Above 900 you may need to use 554-12/15 or 555-12/15
