    Default GA P35 S3G driver

hi ive been to the gigabyte website to see if there was a new chip set driver for my board, having downloaded the only available driver on the site i tried to install it but it says the one i currently use newer than the one i am trying to install.

i got the 8.3.1.1009 version form the website but it says i have 8.3.1.1011 installed that came on the CD when i brought it, so i am wondering if i am not looking in the correct place, i get the driver from this section.

    GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-P35-S3G

any help or a point in the right direction would be great! :)

If you have the newer version, why worry?

Are you experiencing any sort of problems? I'm also guessing that device manager is not showing any conflicts.

    In my opinion, you're fine.

It is because there are many versions available online from either Intel or GA, and other sites. You are fine with 1011

The random crashes could be caused by excessive heat generated by the video card while processing the game, but then not being evacuated from the case. Is there adequate case ventilation? What CPU cooling is installed?

The random crashes could also be caused by a BIOS voltage set too low for the CPU speed, whenever it becomes stressed by LOTRO. Even if the system is running at default speeds with all AUTO voltage settings, that could still be the problem.

If the CPU voltage is set to AUTO, change it manually to the "Normal" voltage shown at the bottom of the MIT page. If the MCH and RAM voltages are set to AUTO, change them both to +0.1v.

If that doesn't help, or if it's already configured at overclocked speeds, then substitute your values into this profile of my current settings, so more eyes can see what's going on within your system. hth

As said above heat or settings can very likely be the cause of your issue. Please post your full specs and settings so we can have a look and suggest optimal settings for you. Please do also link your ram if possible, if not state the model # and tell us what configuration you have 2x1, 2x2, or 4x1

hi there sorry for the very late reply but ive been away for afew days!

i hope the following info helps, can i just add though that i do not think heat is an issue as i have ran various stress tests such as Orthos which is like prime95), furmark and "Video Card Stability Test" + Orthosat the same time for about 40mins with no errors or lockups, crashes etc.

    settings to follow.

Set performance enhance to standard (And please do not use that font or coding for your settings, I can't copy it like that?)

Static tRead Value is WAY TO LOW, set that manually to 7-10, and set your ram voltage to 2.0-2.1 unless it is 1.9V ram? If so, I would still set 2.0V (+0.2)
