    Default GA-EP45-UD3P SATA/IDE confusion

I'm confused about the settings for these parts. This is my first ever build.

    GA-EP45-UD3P
    1 SATA HD (WD 640gb)
    1 SATA DVD burner

If I plug the hard drive into the yellow SATA port 0, and the DVD into yellow SATA port 1, and I don't care about AHCI, do these settings make sense?--

    SATA RAID/AHCI Mode (Intel ICH10R Southbridge)-DISABLED

SATA Port0-3 Native Mode-DISABLED(Allows the SATA controllers to operate in Legacy IDE mode.)

or should the second one be set to "ENABLED" to operate in "Native IDE"? What's the difference? And if I choose "Enabled" on the second one, do I have to install special drivers?

Yep, that's ok to plug those two items into the Yellow Ports.

Keep Raid/Ahci disabled if you use neither.
Set Enabled to Native Mode. For 2000/Xp/Vista - No drivers are required.

    Possible Scenario's

    a) Sata Drives in Legacy Mode = For Windows 98/Me ie Dedicated Irq's
    b) Sata Drives in Native Mode = For Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Non of the above require additional OS startup drivers.

    c) Ahci/Raid No additional OS Driver Required = For Windows Vista Only
    d) Ahci/Raid Additional OS Driver Required F6 method = For Windows XP

Okay great, thanks for the quick reply. I'm using Vista so I'll set it to "native".
