    Default AHCI or SATA?

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P Bios - Under "Integrated Peripherals" there are three settings for the "Onboard SATA/IDE ctrl mode" That defaults to IDE. For a non-raid setup like mine, with WD SATA drives, should I change the setting to AHCI? It seems confusing to me that the board treats SATA drives like IDE drives as default.

    Thanks, Tony.

Thanks. I just set it back to IDE. It's just confusing terminology...

If you are using windows 2000/XP/Vista, you should set it to Native Mode.
