    Default GA-EP45-UD3R and OCZ OCZ2RPR10664GK (2X2G) DDR2 1066

    Just purchased GA-EP45-UD3R and OCZ OCZ2RPR10664GK (2X2G) DDR2 1066, and cannot seem to get both sticks running in dual channel, it won't post. I can get either stick running by itself, but not both. Some DDR2 800 I had laying around seems to work in dual channel?

    I have heard this is a somewhat common problem with this memory and board, any help?

    Please set performance enhance to standard, set MCH Voltage to 1.2-1.3, and make sure Static Tread value is not below 7-8 and set your ram voltage manually.

    If that does not help, please post your full specs, and then fill this in with what you are trying and I will advise back >>>

    Great! Thanks for the quick reply! So I'll boot with one stick, enter BIOS, change to your posted settings, install the second and stick and give it a shot?

    Ya, that would be the way to do it since you cant get in the BIOS with both sticks

    Still doesn't seem to work. When I remove second stick after trying and get back into BIOS it states something like "Settings may have changed due to overclocking, yada yada...

    when i was using ocz ... i had to set my Static tRead Value to 9 to get stable

    Hmmmm.... I'm not sure how to change my Static Tread values, they state auto and I don't seem to be able to change them?

    You need to change some settings to Manual to be able to change those advanced timings. Why do you have 266 Freq in your list above? Did you used to use a lesser CPU?

    Anyhow, try this with both sticks. You have tested each stick one by one with memtest86+ to be sure neither is faulty right?

No idea, that is what it was set at stock? Did you used to use a lesser CPU? Nope, just got all of this equip new two days ago? I have only had the 8500 in it.

    Anyhow, try this with both sticks. You have tested each stick one by one with memtest86+ to be sure neither is faulty right? Yup, ran memtest86+ v2.01 with both sticks last night, one pass on each no errors.

    Ahh sounds like you need to first start over in your BIOS then since 266 was stock, you did not load and apply/save/reboot so your CPU would be picked up properly. So please do load optimized defaults, set your ram voltage after that, then save and apply/reboot BACK TO THE BIOS. DO NOT LOAD WINDOWS as you will have to set your SATA/Disk settings all again, and all other settings.

    Yes, you should do this for sure just changing the settings manually does not change things that may be hidden/inaccessible to you for your CPU and such.

    This should always be done on a new build and anytime you flash your BIOS, which you may also want to update. Do not use @BIOS, see here for how to flash safely >>>

    About Memtest86+, you should run 5-10 passes on each stick to be sure they are good. 1 Pass is not enough for sure
