    Default Starting point for OC'ing GA-EP43-DS3L w/E8400

    Hello all,

    I just got my new box running last night. I've printed out and read the stickies on this forum and made several attempts last evening to increase performance, but I didn't get very far... it was running very cool but kept locking up. The documents seemed to make sense, but I must have been doing something wrong. I was hoping someone could provide a good starting point and then some direction on moving forward. I have memtest, CPUZ? and Prime95 installed, and I have already successfully flashed the BIOS to v8. Here is my hardware:

    Lian LI PC-7B PLUS II Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Case
    Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L Motherboard
    Intel E8400 CPU
    ZeroTherm BTF90 (butterfly) Fan/Cooler (using Arctic Silver 5)
    4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 1066 OCZ Reaper HPC SDRAM (BIOS says it was running interlaced)
    Radeon HD 4850 512MB DDR3 256-bit PCIE 2.0 Video Card
    Antec 650W PS
    2 - Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB 7200 RPM SATA II Hard Drives
    2 - LG SATA II DVD Burners
    OS = Vista Ultimate 64

    I just reset the BIOS so I am back to square one. Any suggestions would be MOST appreciated!
