    Default GA-EP45-DQ6 QX9650 Overclock Advice

    Hi,

    I want to overclock my CPU to 4Ghz on this motherboard. I am having some challenges. With my current settings I am finding that i need too much voltage and the CPU generates too much heat to get to 4ghz. I can get to 3.8Ghz stable. Appreciate any advice on how i can get to 4Ghz by changing my bios and not changing the cooling method to water.

    I would like a setting that allows me to put less vcore thru the CPU.

    12in * 4 Case fans but no blow holes or side panel fans
    No active NB or SB cooling

    4Ghz is going to b pretty hot on Air, so you may want to stay at 3.8 and call it a day

    Use 444-12 if you are running 2.00D for 850, use 555-15/18 if you are running above 850Mhz. You could also use CPU multi 9x450 FSB with 2.00D multi for 900Mhz ram. Many things could be done, as you likely know. I think once you add more Vtt you will be fine with what you have been trying to do as of now. But I do advise you use the 400/D strap as you go past 400 FSB

    Im on a MSI p7N Platinum and a Corsair H70 cooling system.
    QX9650 @ 4.0 Ghz i have got this to 4.75Ghz and just about hitting 65 degrees load but if u want the 4ghz settings i would suggest putting the multiplier up to 12x and 1333 FSB which will give you 4ghz i have tested this set up and currently using it with a my voltage on my cpu on 1.3v and stressed it overnight with no errors and idle temps of 38 degrees and 55 max load overnight. reaching 4ghz shouldnt be a problem.
