Thread: Help me!! OC E8600 with Ep45 Ud3p

Hey, I have been tweaking, trying lots of things. For me .68MCH is about the same as .70 and maybe less stable than .70. I have just been trying .64 MCH ref in ET6 and seems to be working just as good as .70. So maybe try going lower on that and see if it helps.

Edit: .66 MCH seems to be the best by far for me!!

OW really ...what the Vtt are you using....,I feel I cannot use 0.7 MCH ref anymore if I push VTT over 1.3xxx so far and need to reduce, currently I use 1.34-1.38 with 0.68 MCH ref and got longer stable, may I use 0.66 for some clock. Actually I still don't know which number are rock solid!!!

Sometime It's run fine 0.70 MCH ref with Vtt around 1.24-1.28......

Well so far I have just my 24/7 easy settings stable at 3.8Ghz @ stock voltage(normal/1.25v in bios, 1.216 in windows w/ LLC enabled). I have been trying to get higher but I think its all V core??

Anyway at this setting 1.35PLL, 1.35 ICH I/O, 1.32 MCH, .66 MCH ref, 1.22 CPU term, .76 CPU ref(only one that works), Dram at 2.06v.

Running PL8, 5-5-4-14 2T. My ram is not very good timings, lol, 2x2GB

I know it will do at least 4.2Ghz with more Vcore and prob more MCH(1.32+) and maybe PLL/Termination to get higher stable

With Performance enhance on turbo your manual static tRead setting is likely being ignore for a higher value... Have you looked in Memset to see what you get there with that set as you have it?

    Looking good guys either way

Some more info about your MCH Ref findings would be great

Just for a note, if you guys didn't already know. The MCH ref in ET6 show the reff that it would be with the default 1.2 CPU termination. So if I set CPU termination to 1.2 and MCH ref and CPU ref to stock, then ET6 will be correct. If you change CPU termination then the ref's will obviously change but ET6 will still report the ref's as if CPU term was still 1.2.

So I just think of it as a strap or something as mine seems to work best with CPU ref near the stock ratio but MCH ref works best when its .70-.64(on stock CPU term, so what it says in ET6), so far I think .66mch ref is gained me 54Mhz more stable on the same voltages compared to .70 or .64. It will not even boot with the stock .76 MCH ref.

Also from what I have been reading CPU termination should be set just below the CPU Vcore. So if you raise the Vcore you should raise the CPU term. So for me I think 1.22 term gained me a little stability on the stock 1.25v but not much, lol.

I'm still trying to figure out this but 424x9 on stock volts is the best I gan get stability at the moment.

I'm not sure what PLL does as it doesn't do anything for me so far. The CPU Clock Drive also if I change it 1 setting I can not boot.

So I will play with the skew a little and see whats that does now

Hey BuGjAE, try changing the "CPU Clock Skew", so far for me 200ps seems best, to try 200-300 or more since your running higher. For me right now 500ps wont even boot, but 200ps I am running 430x9 on same voltages. I tried the MCH clock Skew but 0ps seems best for my slow 430 FSB. Maybe you can try 50-100ps?

Ahh bad news with stable setting above Now It become unstable again with the same setting ... Damn. Ahh I 'm not sure what is my issue. Now I use Standard performance enhance for ram and doesn't tweak the CPU skew and MCH skew.
I doubt in Advance Clock control How's it important for stable? and I see fail save default setting is
    Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
    CPU Clock Drive...........................: 700mv
    PCI Express Clock Drive...................: 700mv
    CPU Clock Skew (ps).......................: Auto
    MCH Clock Skew (ps).......................: Auto

    different from optimize default is

    Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
    CPU Clock Drive...........................: 800mv
    PCI Express Clock Drive...................: 900mv
    CPU Clock Skew (ps).......................: Auto
    MCH Clock Skew (ps).......................: Auto

I 'll try to adjust CPU in this section later.
Now I'm back to F4 again and do the same setting
