    Default EP45-EXTREME bios settings

Hi all!!..i'm new in the forum and first at all, sorry if my english isn't very good...i hope my lines will be understandable. Well, i have an EP45-EXTREME motherboard, and i like to know if exists a thread that can detail me the correct settings of his bios, to get an overclock of 3,6GHz. Is it necesary, or with a 3,4GHz oc is enough??. Thanks you!!.

    Hello,

I am not going to attempt to help you with your overclock - but I just thought I'd mention that I really doubt you would notice any difference between 3.4 GHz and 3.6 GHz.

If your intention with overclocking is the fun of it - then by all means, push the limits - but if you are overclocking because you think you'll be more productive at work, then stop at the 3.4 GHz and get to work! :)

Full specs would help for sure! But yes, TONS of threads here for P45 boards with full settings are posted. They all will apply to you, the BIOS is the same in most all P45 boards

Thank you for the answers...well, the objective of the oc is just work (Inventor, Catia, Photoshop, video edition...), and play some last titles (crysis warhead, Far Cry 2...). I have really heard that oc don't mean a great performance since 3,4GHz, but i'm wasn't sure about it. In another way, i will have a look at some of these threads you say, "Lsdmeasap". Thank you both!!.

If you still need help, please do link me to your ram and let me know how much you have installed, what CPU you have, and what speed you want to run and I will get you some settings to work with

The configuration of my PC is in the signature (perhaps it's difficult to see :P):

    Processor: Q6600 G0 revision.
    Motherboard: EP45-EXTREME.
    Heatsink: Enzotech Ultra-X.
    RAM: 2x2Gb OCZ Reaper-X 800 3-4-4-12
Graphic Card: EVGA GTX280 Superclocked edition.
    Case: Cooler Master Stacker STC-T01.
    Sound Card: Creative Soundblaster Fatal1ty.
    HDD: 150Gb Raptor + 300Gb Velociraptor + 2x 320Gb Maxtor.
    PSU: Xigmatek NRP MC850W.

That's all...actually i have running it at 3,4GHz, but sometimes gets hanged up, or flashing blue screen. Curiously, i have executed orthos in all the cores during 20 hours, and it seems to be ok...i'm lost!!!

PD One more question...what do you think about OCZ RAM??...is the best for my computer, or should i to buy another with more compatibility??. Thanks!

Yes, very hard to read your siggy!

Got a link to your ram? Since you are already up and running, and passing 20 Hours orthos then you are likely fine with settings.

Could be driver issues with you being that stable, when does it crash? Randomly or when you try certain things?

Have you tried without your Sound card for a day to see if that may be the issue with it or it's drivers?

I can't comment on OCZ, I have been trying to get them to send me some samples for testing but no luck. I personally have never used them, and seen many people say they are fine. So I dont know honestly

If you want let me see what you are using and I will see if I see anything off about it >>>
