    Default Memory and Voltage settings please

    First post here, this looks like a terrific resource.

    GA-EP45-UD3P F4 bios
    E8500
    G.Skill F2 8500 5-5-5-15 2x2GB

    I've bumped the FSB up to 400 and am using the 2.66D memory multiplier. CoreTemp shows 45 idle and 56 after 5 min. of Orthos blend. I'm not looking to go much higher than 3800 (unless I can get it super stable) Could someone give me some suggestions for memory and voltage settings for a nice stable (and cool) 24/7 OC? Thanks.

    Thanks for the settings lsd.
    Here is the memory I have:
    Newegg.ca - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

    I have run 12 hour cycles of Prime95 and Memtest86+ with no errors so I'm thinking I may as well try for a little higher. Assuming the same FSB and multiplier, which will provide more of a performance boost:
    a) continue overclocking my ram using the 2.66D multiplier? Or,
    b) use the 2.00D multiplier and tighten the memory timings (4-4-4-12?).

    I've read differing advice on setting LLC. What are the pros/cons of enabling or disabling this setting.

    Are the temps that I see in CoreTemp considered accurate? They are about 10 degrees higher than what the motherboard reports in bios. What should I consider a safe max temp - 60 under load?

    Thanks, All above suggestions are good then voltagewise.

    Sounds like you are good and stable then!

    Well you would just have to benchmark both ways to see which is best, but likely faster ram would win that and adding to that faster FSB would only make the scores of each go up.

    I have heard the same as you, pro's and con's of LLC. I use it on 65NM CPU, but keep it disabled on my 45NM ones and just overcompensate. All up to you

    Yes, CoreTemp is showing your CORE TEMPS, BIOS is only reporting your CPU temp. A very different thing. CoreTemp, RealTemp, Everest all report very good for core temps. I would keep it under 70ish at full load (With normal Apps like orthos/prime/OCCT)

    OK, thanks again. I didn't realize that about the BIOS temp readings but it certainly makes sense.
