    I'm trying to get a stable overclock with my Q9650 at 475-4 with the 9x multiplier and pass a 24 hour blend in Prime95. My system is:

    GA-EP45-UD3P
    Intel Q9650
    2x2GB G.Skill F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
    Sapphire Radeon 4870X2
    150GB WD Velociraptor, 1TB Caviar Black
    ASUS Xonar D2
    Xigamtek HDT-S1283 w/ Ultra Kaze 3000
    Corsair HX1000W

    That may be a tall order...

    Reading over at the Corsair forums, it seems that most their Ram testing (and product advertising) is done with Dual Core Cpu's namely the 8xxx series, because in general they fair far better with a high FSB than the quad cores do.

    I would be surprised if you reached total stability with memtest & prime95. Also if you are going to use Vista, you'll have an OS that will be even more critical about your setup due to the implementation of ASLR.

    Ain't gonna happen....

    You might hit 4.2ghz with LN2 cooling for a screenshot

    Be a tad realistic a see what others with a quad are hitting. 3.6ghz is amazing for a quad and 3.8ghz is downright incredible

    What's unrealistic about 4GHz for a quad? There are plenty of Q9550s and Q9650s hitting 4GHz, even on air.

    You try your above settings on memtest yet?? That's step one.

    Next step is to manually set your advanced timings.

    You may need to experiment with (G)MCH and multiplier settings to make it happy. Thats where I'm convinced my stability came from.

    My original goal was 500x9 and Memtest86+ ran fine for twelve hours, but I'll run it again tonight.

    1.54v is the lowest I can go for MCH and still boot. At 1.54v, however, blends fail instantaneously.

    That is ALOT of MCH and Vtt, you may kill your CPU with over 1.45 VTT for sure. I am not sure about MCH but that is likely for sure not needed if you will switch to the D strap
