    Talking Ram questions & EP45-UD3P or UD3R

First of all, let me compliment you on a great site!!!

I am a current Gig owner for about 1.5 years now. I have been extremely happy with my OC results.

    My current config is
    GA-965P-DS3
    E4300 1.8 GHz OC'd to 3.1
    Corsair 550v
    STT DDR2-800 2GB (2x1GB) CL5 Dual Channel

    MY upgrade xmas wish list!!
Q9450 or E8400 (depends on after xmas price drop)
    EP45-UD3P or EP45-UD3r
    mushkin 4GB(2x2)DDR2 1066 or 800

    Questions:
1.) Is there any difference between the ep45-ud3p and ud3r, besides the 1 extra video slot? I will not be using sli or crossfire

2.)I have read a lot of issues with ram on here. I need 4gig and would prefer 2x2. What is the best and least problematic brand and model for the most stable system. ie. Mush 1066 (I don't see Mushkin on the compatibility list??)

3.)Is there a big difference between 800 and 1066 types of ram? I am looking at a $35 diff.(Not planning on OC for awhile)

Thanks for the great website guys/gals. There isn't even a close second to it.

UD3P also has a TPM Chip and Dual LAN

+1 for Mushkin or Crucial from me on that question. I am a Mushkin Lover myself, using 996580's right now and am testing 996587's as well. I am also testing Crucial Right (4x1 + 2x2 800Mhz) now on GA-P45 boards without issue. The new 2.0V rated ones are what I am testing.

Not too much of a difference, not that you will notice in real world use, only benchmarks. But most all GOOD 800 ram will do 1066 anyway, just have to use the loose 555 timings is all. The Crucial's I am testing, and the Mushkins I use, both 800Mhz stock will do 1200+ with the correct settings

Thanks for the kind words, and do post back anytime!
