Post No post (blank screen) after 4 GB memory upgrade

My friend bought a budget pc (on a whim I might add) all was fine until he decided to upgrade the memory as he thought it might help with the system occasionally hanging for a few mins.
The local computer shop guy recommended the memory below, as he said he had no issues with it on this mobo, and buying anything else would just be a waste of money on this rig.
Memory works fine when only one stick is inserted, but with both system fails to boot, no signal on monitor, but no beeps codes???
Cant find any options in the bois for enabling dual boot, I assume its auto detect.
Iím stumped , Iím a bit of a noob myself, couldnít find a solution on this board or google.
Bios was flashed to the latest F8, no difference. Any suggestions???

if it works fine with one stick, you might get a win by booting into bios with that one stick, and backing off the ram timings. (Read guide, stickied at top) Then try 2 sticks.

There is also the possibility of a dud ram slot.

Glad to see you found your faulty slot! You will enjoy a new board anyway, especially the one you choose!

Be sure you add some MCH Voltage for 4GB of ram, and get ready to see a very advanced BIOS compared to your M31-S2L

Good luck with your new setup!
