    Integrated Peripherals

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode (Intel ICH10R Southbridge) ............. DISABLED
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode ................................... Enabled

Onboard SATA/IDE Device (GIGABYTE SATA2 Chip) ............. Enabled
Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode (GIGABYTE SATA2 Chip) ........... IDE
    Legacy USB Storage Detect___Disabled

I have tried many combinations of all these settings, also have tried in all SATA ports on the mother board, It will work fine for maybe hours or maybe minutes then the HDD will spin down, when I re boot its not detected in the bios. The last time I used it it worked for ages and I shut it down, I turned it back on again and it doesnt detect the HDD, Its not the HDD because Ive tried others that I know work fine and cables and PSU's.

One more thing, i cant seem to find were to select 1.9V for my ram, I have a DDR2 Over Voltage setting?????????? But I dont know what that does. I was just running memtest 86+ 2.11 on that bad stick and it got one pass then a bit into the second the computer switched off?? Doesnt seem good.

Edit: I push Ctrl + F1 and the screen sorta flashes but I cant see anything different anywhere.

That is your ram voltage setting, set >>>
    +0.1 for 1.9V
    +0.2 for 2.0V
    +0.3 for 2.1V

The Control + F1 key used on the MAIN Screen of the BIOS will show all hidden settings in all sections, you may not have any depending on your BIOS. Other then on the IRQ Screen (PnP/PCI Page). All settings should be visible in MIT Without the kotkey

Have you tried older BIOS? If not, try F5 or F8a >>>

Yeah I though that +0.1 would do that, just wanted to be sure. I did notice the IRQ settings had a few new ones but thats about it.

I have tried F5, F7, F8a a number of times all done with Qflash and all times have succedded. just makes no difference. I have got an RMA for the Board and the RAM i will be sending it back on monday :-( After about 20 restarts it detected my HDD again and got into windows, was there for about 20 seconds and then I hurd it switch off and that was it. Thanks for your help. I will keep you posted when I get the new gear back. Hopefully all should work great then.

The new board is in and guess what, its doing exactly the same ****. Switches off in BIOS, wont detect SATA HDD, cant do ****, It doesnt even last on 5 minutes in the BIOS or anything, I was at a dos screen and it switches off, PSU Is new and it does it on 2 PSU's Could my CPU Be Dead? Is it my XMS2 Ram? its new ram matched pair, 1.8v IDK But im pretty much ready to smash something.

UPDATE. I have my 1tb Seagate in an external HDD Esata Enclosure and everything seems to be working. Could I be unlucky enough to have gotten two dodgy totally different power suplies?? I will get another PSU today and test this theory, but my HDD does not spin up when powered by the ODIN GT on either SATA or Molex to sata power. And I know theres power on the molex as its powering my case logo. Im stumped but when hdd is in ESATA everthing seems to work fine, and hasnt switched off yet. I have it overclocked to 3.6 400X9 with 4gb ram and temps are high 20's idel and high 30's load. so seems pretty farking good. just like to get this psu happening so I can put my hdd back in my case. I cant seem to get AHCI working either it detects the drives but then just says bootmanger not found restart. This is before install of bindows, with the setup disk in the dvd drive with it set to boot first. so I dont know. But one thing at a time. Im going to try for 3.8ghz tonight 400X9.5 and see what the temps are. but yeah getting there I guess.

I have my replacement Thermaltake TR2RX 550watt Power Supply which fried I just got the replacement today, It ran my 8800GT in my Dell Pentium D 3.4 for ages so I assume it should have enough power to run my E8500 @ 3.4 with my 8800GT, the only thing is it only has a 4pin cpu power plug not the 8, I may just haha run the SATA power from my dell psu to my 1tb in the new pc to see if it is a PSU issue as to why i cant get my 1tb to spin up internal sata but works sweet as in a external SATA case with its own transformer and PSU. And if its a dicky PSU then it may explain why it swithcs off and does stupid **** sometimes, I ran PRIME95 X64 for 1hour and 40 minutes this morning with all 4gb and ESATA and OC @ 3.4ghz and it ran without error to that short time with a max CPU temp of 49 Degrees C So I think that is ok, But I would like others opinions please. I have a Windows Vista Experience index of 5.9 which is up .9 from my dell lol. is this good people?

Ok People heres a quick screen shot, temps were a bit higher but it was about 40 Degrees C here today and the place was shut up when this test was running so I think its pretty good. Quiet fan to its awesome. No I just need to get the HDD back into the Case running of the Internal PSU and not ESATA box, I have another PSU to test, but I fear there is something more sinester going on here

Ok so is 55 to hot for this CPU? I just encoded a DVD and according to real temp 3.0 at around 92%load it got to 55 Again? I hope this is an ok level??? for 3.6ghz, im happy with it I dont really need to go to 3.8 at this stage I may do just to see what the temp difference is but yeah. Seems that the new GIGABYTE ODIN GT 800Watt is not good, I installed the software for it and it came up with an alarm straight away about the 5v rail being down to 4.21 and that i guess is why my HDD wont stay spun up? ( I booted with the HDD power from another PSU) anyway I put the New replacement thermaltake TR2 550Watt in and its all working sweet as. So RMA for ODIN GT. Fark I just cant believe my luck.
