    Default GA-EP45-DS3L & G.SKill F2-8500CL5-2GBPK ram settings

    I have been trying to oc my E4500 past 3ghz but with to no avail. I have been hoping for (8x400)= 3.2ghz. I can post and load windows but right before the desktop shows I get a BSOD memory dump. I have a feeling my ram is holding me back. I have read people pushing their E4500's past the 3ghz mark on less volts than I have. Maybe I have a dud? Who knows but here's my settings.

    All of my ram timings are set to auto because if I change any single setting my system doesn't post.

    I have also heard about people having issues with my ram G.skill 1066. 4gb (2x2) and this board so I'm hoping I don't need to pick up a new set of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    You need to set some MCH and your ram voltage and save/apply/reboot then you should be able to raise your ram to it's default speed using the B (333) Strap. 333x3.20=1066 at 400 FSB you would want to use 2.66D (400 Strap). Actually, see below thoughts for now about your ram as I am not sure what speed you are trying to run

    Everything on Auto would be why you cannot change your ram settings, auto is often to tight.

    Please do post a link to your ram

    Try this for 400 FSB 3.2Ghz, not sure what your intended speed is?

    I am shooting for 3.2ghz (8x400) I managed to get this OC. But my vcore in bios is set at 1.5v. I sure hope I am able to lower this. As for manual timings I noticed that my Channel A and B settings were different from each other even though I have a paired kit. I just changed everything in the advanced timing section to [Auto] For now. Now it boots using manual timings. I'm going to be testing for stability later tonight.

    I have to use an insane amount of vcore on my system to stay stable at 3.2ghz. (1.5065v) I'm not sure if this is worth it but I'm going to stick with it for now.

    I have tried your suggested settings and I cant seem to get my system to post with the [auto] freq latch and the 2.50A or 2.66a memory multiplier. Or even with some of the advanced memory timings so I just left everything at auto with those for now.

    Would using a FSB of 401 instead of 400 be more stable?
    What about the PCI EXPRESS Clock drive? Its set at 800mV default. You suggested 900mV?

    I'm going to start tinkering around with different advanced memory timing settings and see where that leads me.
