I have a revision 1.1 UD3P got it from MWAVE ordered it on 12-31. Now the big question is what's the difference? Also since I'm asking questions does this revision still use the 1.0 BIOS updates or do I start over with different updates? I know you guys are rolling on the floor laughing at me but since this is my first build I don't know these things.

Let me check when I get home because both the info on the box and the Motherboard had rev 1.1. I checked that before I installed the motherboard. I might also add that when I was in the process of installing the OS I checked the BIOS version and it came with F6. I'm thinking but can't say for sure but I think the board was made in China. I will confirm this.

Yes thanks for the pic but I checked the board before it went in the case rev.1.1 Bios is at F6. The box does not have a manufacture date on it nor do I find anything on the box that shows where it was made. When I get a moment I'll check the board.

I just bought a EP45-UD3P from FRY's this weekend and it is rev 1.1 also. The box looks the same, but the ultra durable logo in the front as well as the other logos are placed in different positions. On the back, mine says made in china. Far as i can see, not much difference other than the newer bios. Can't find anything about it though on gigabyte.com or the net however. The price for the board was 134.99 I believe, but i got it in an advertised combo with the Core 2 Duo E8400 which can be found here for 258.00 after rebate:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8400 & Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3P Motherboard

NOTE: It says EP43 on the ad, but when i went to the store, it was the EP45. It says so on the box too. This was in sacramento though. Not sure if this is a mistake or not, but the combo was posted with the EP45 board in the motherboard section contrary to the ad, so they gave it to me. The sale is only at retail locations and ends 1-29-09 so good luck to anyone who can get their hands on it.

I attatched a picture of my box if you wanted to compare it to the older boxes - the purchase sticker on the side of the box also says rev 1.1 too.

Correction: It seems some people report having more stable Vcore readings with no fluctuations with rev 1.1 whereas rev 1.0 has fluctuations. Guess they made rev 1.1 better :D for higher voltage overclocking.

Here's a link to another forum where someone compared tests of the revisions: Gigabyte EP45 UD3P 2 oz Copper O'clocking thread. - Page 6 - VR-Zone IT & Lifestyle Forum!

Hey thanks for the info I do know that the heatsink is different on the 1.1 it's the one next to 8 pin ATX connection on the board. In rev 1.0 it was more designed in rev 1.1 it's flatter. If that makes sense glad you able to get a deal at Frys I have to stay away form places like that or I'll be doing another build.

    Guys,

Of course you might know now UD3P rev 1.1 is out, if you happen just bought it with rev 1.0, take it back for replacement to get 1.1 unless your store policy within 30 days exchange for free or restocking fee.

Stay away both old rev 1.0 UD3P/R

    Differences between 1.0/1.1 ? I don't know...I bought it with 1.1 "R", I have no problem with my "R".

BTW, I noticed this forum with UD3P rev 1.0 really out of control, ppl screaaammm for help !!! lol
