    Default GA-EP45-UD3P and G.Skill PC2-8500 8500CL6D

    Hey guru,

    Its been a while since i last overclocked so i need some help here. Last time I did it I had to use artic silver to unlock the multiplier on my AMD if you guys remember that.

    Anyways, I am trying to overclock my q6600.

    Here are my specs.

    Q6600 Slacr stepping B rev g0
    gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p
    gskill pc2-8500 f2-8500cl6d
    cool master 750W power supply

    Here is the voltages that the hw monitor is showing
    cpu 1.376
    dram 1.984
    +3.3 3.312
    +12v 11.985

    I figure I should easily get the processor to 3.0, i read most are getting over this mark. I can seem to get close to 3.0ghz. One thing I have noticed is in the easytune software the memory shows up as PC2-6400.

    I notice on the box for the memory it says 2.0-2.1 v
    I tried to bump it up a little but it won't handle it. BTW easy tune 6 shows dram as 1.98 while it is set to 1.8 in the BIOS.

    I have pci-express locked down to 100. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but it seem like I am or my MB doesn't like my memory.

    I changed the multiple to 8 and justed increased the FSB to overclock.
    Any recommendation would be appreciated.

    Wow, ya that was LONG ago!

    1066 ram is 800 really, it is up to the user to change this in the BIOS.

    You ram voltage at Auto or 1.8 in the BIOS may just be that particular setting, try setting it to 2.0 and then or 2.1V and reboot and then go back in the BIOS and look in the PC health section and see what the setting is now giving you.

    Sweet! I was beginning to think I needed a rma. Thanks for the help that did the trick. I didn't stress test it yet but it seems stable so far. If that's good will see how much further I can get it.

    Hi...I have almost the same setup....and I am looking for some recommendations to get to 3.6 GHz. Any suggestions?
